Piff The Magic Dragon Hosts "Piff's Ping Pong Pifftacular Tournament" Benefitting Mission High School Students at Flamingo Las Vegas Beach Club

Piff the Magic Dragon, who performs in his popular show alongside Mr. Piffles, the World’s First Magic Performing Chihuahua, hosted “Piff’s Ping Pong Pifftacular” tournament on Wednesday, June 20 at the Beach Club at Flamingo Las Vegas. All proceeds were raised to benefit students of the local Mission High School, a comprehensive secondary school designed for students in recovery from substance abuse, use or dependency.

Tournament highlights included:

• Gypsy Wood from OPIUM going head to head with Kasey Wilson from Absinthe for best Spiegelworld player
• Battle of the comedians with Des Bishop (Comedy Cellar), Jeremy Fried (Comedy Cellar), Felicia Michaels (Laugh Factory) and John Caparulo (Harrah’s)
• An English showdown between Miss Behave Gameshow and Tenors of Rock

After five rounds, it was down to Frankie Sidoris, who performs with Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, vs. Joe Labero from INFERNO. Labero stormed to a crushing victory, taking the two games required with the kind of ruthless efficiency one would expect.

All was not done though, as Labero still had to take on Piff the Magic Dragon, indisputably the Greatest Ping Pong Playing Magic Dragon of All Time, in a best-of-one-point game to decide the ultimate champion.

In a stunning upset, Piff emerged victorious and carried home the trophy. While Labero fought well, he had to make do with the defeat.

Piff said, "I’d like to take a moment to congratulate myself for winning my own ping pong tournament. All it took was establishing a hit show in Las Vegas, inviting a whole group of local celebrities, and then scamming my way to victory."

Mission High School (MHS) is a comprehensive secondary school designed for students in recovery from substance abuse, use or dependency. There is No Hero in Heroin (TINHIH), established in June 2013, has partnered with Clark County School District (CCSD) in a groundbreaking way to combat the unprecedented opioid epidemic with the development and opening of the first-in-the-nation public recovery high school. To date, 37 students are enrolled at MHS. Students come from a variety of social-economic backgrounds, families and neighborhoods. All have one thing in common- they suffer from substance use disorder and they want to get well. Since opening in August 2017, the students who came in with severe credit deficiencies have increased their academic scores by more than 20 percent.

Piff may bill himself as the Loser of Season 10 of “America’s Got Talent,” but he has proven he is anything but as the plucky British magician/comedian/genuine magic dragon playing to sold out crowds on tour dates across the United States. Don’t miss Piff’s shows at Flamingo Las Vegas all summer long, from June 7 through August 12. Showtime is 8 p.m. VIP Meet & Greet packages are also available and include a private party with Piff before the show. Piff’s Private Party starts at 7 p.m.
