Fremont Street Experience Raises $9,916 for Susan G. Komen Nevada During SlotZilla™ Charity Challenge

Fremont Street Experience raised more than $9,000 for Susan G. Komen Nevada during its most recent SlotZilla Charity Challenge. Coinciding with the 21st Annual Race for the Cure, on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., 100% of SlotZilla revenue from flights on the lower Zipline and upper Zoomline went to Susan G. Komen Nevada. Fremont Street Experience Director of Marketing, Thomas Bruny, presented the organization a check for $9,916 on Monday, May 16.

“Fremont Street Experience is a proud to host and sponsor the annual Race for the Cure event, so pairing it with the SlotZilla Charity Challenge was a natural fit,” said Bruny. “We’re thankful to everyone who came out to support this great cause not only at the race, but during the SlotZilla Charity Challenge. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, Susan G. Komen Nevada will have more funds to provide advocacy, education and resources for people affected by breast cancer.”

Life Time Athletic Green Valley, located at 121 Carnegie St. in Henderson, NV invites runners of all ages, levels and abilities to hit the pavement for a free outdoor social run in celebration of “GLOBAL RUNNING DAY,” 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1. More than 30 runners are anticipated to hit the pavement for the outdoor social run. The run is open to members and non-members of Life Time Athletic at no cost.  The focus of Global Running Day is the first-ever “Million Kids Run” that aims to have a million kids around the world pledge to run on June 1. To help meet this number, Life Time destinations nationwide will offer distances for kids of all abilities, including a Kids Dash 200m, 1 mile and 3 mile, so kids of all ages can participate.

DOWNTOWN CARES, a day of volunteerism founded by El Cortez Hotel & Casino and Moonridge Group in 2012, will host its sixth COMMUNITY EVENT on Saturday, June 4,  from  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  In celebration of the El Cortez Hotel & Casino and Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada’s 75th anniversaries, this year’s event will FEED APPROXIMATLEY 1,200 PEOPLE IN NEED. Over 100 volunteers will prepare the meal, invite clients to sit and enjoy a plated meal served to them in a decorated dining room and give them care packages.

As the 2016 summer games approach, BEER PARK will host its own version of the competition at Paris Las Vegas.The Strip’s first rooftop bar and grill will host a BEER OLYMPICS TOURNAMENT starting at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.  BEER PARK’s Beer Olympics will feature beer pong, pool, shuffle board, flip cup and beanbag toss. There will be eight teams per game and all teams will consist of two people, aside from flip cup, which will have four players per team. Renowned Pink Floyd tribute artist THE MACHINE will bring their one-of-a-kind performance to The Yard inside TOPGOLF LAS VEGAS on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 9 p.m. General admission tickets start at $27. This is an all-ages show.

AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION OF NEVADA (ACLUNV) has partnered with the world-renowned and highly influential artist and designer, John Van Hamersveld for the ACLUNV’s 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Wynn Las Vegas.
 
Van Hamersveld has designed pieces such as the Beatle’s “Magical Mystery Tour” album cover, a 360-foot-long mural and official poster for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the “Endless Summer” movie poster, and his iconic Indian poster. He is the only artist with a Viva Vision light show at Fremont Street Experience, which has been running since 2009. Van Hamersveld has created custom artwork for the gala and a limited edition poster for VIP attendees. Before the formal gala program begins, there will be an exclusive, one-hour meet and greet with Van Hamersveld, along with additional Nevada and national VIPs. The VIP meet-and-greet will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the main dinner program, entertainment, silent auction and honoree recognition and 7 p.m.  Tickets are priced at $250 per person with VIP tickets priced at $350 each.
 
DR. CESAR LOZANO brings his most successful and requested conference to Sam’s Town Live! on Thursday, June 9. Lozano, who specializes in helping the Spanish-speaking community to better understand the opposite sex, will show audience members how to understand the character and personalities in different types of partners. Lozano’s conference will also help audience members find out how to increase the harmony within their own relationships. The entire event program will be presented in Spanish. REGGAE IN THE DESERT, Las Vegas’ largest Reggae festival showcasing both the unifying power of Reggae music and the Caribbean lifestyle, announces the 15th annual music festival on Saturday, June 11 at the Clark County Amphitheatre (500 S. Grand Central Parkway, Las Vegas). The all-ages music festival features Capelton, Don Carlos, Israel Vibration, Fortunate Youth, Junior Marvin and New Kingston.  Doors open at noon and the event concludes at 11 p.m. General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $45 day of show. VIP tickets are $120 and include an event t-shirt, event poster, meet-and-greet with select artists, a VIP cash bar and an air conditioned VIP Lounge with couches and private restrooms. Only cash is accepted at the door for tickets on the day of the show. Children ages five (5) or younger are free. All seats are general admission and available on a first-come, first served basis. Sam’s Town Live!, inside Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, will host ULTIMATE VARIETY LIVE!, a showcase of unique talent on June 11 and 12. The show will feature comedians, magicians, ventriloquists, instrumentalists, tribute artists and more. After his performance at TAO Beach earlier in the day, Kid Ink and his entourage re-fueled with dinner at LAVO in The Palazzo before heading to TAO Nightclub where they took in Timbaland’s set.

Also in the crowd was Jillian Rose Reed from MTV’s “Awkward”.

Over at Marquee Dayclub in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas,  Carnage manned the decks. Wiz Khalifa and Travis Scott joined in on the festivities and even initiated a squirt gun water fight before Wiz got on the mic and hyped up the crowd from the DJ booth.

Returning to Marquee Sunday night, Wiz Khalifa took over the club as he rapped a set of his top hits for a full house.  While performing “Bake Sale” Travis Scott, who is featured on the on the song, surprisingly appeared on stage. The rapper, who was staying in a bungalow at The Cosmopolitan, heard the song starting and ran straight from his room to the stage to finish off the single with Wiz.

Saturday afternoon,  May 28...

Multi-platinum selling and Grammy nominated recording artist Sisqo performed at GO Pool at Flamingo Las Vegas. The R&B singer and actor hopped on the microphone to treat poolside partygoers to a performance of his hit "Thong Song" as well as other jams.
