AFAN Hosted 24th Annual Black & White Party inside The Joint at Hard Rock

AFAN (Aid for AIDS of Nevada) hosted the 24th Annual Black & White Party inside The Joint concert venue at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, on Saturday, Aug. 21. AFAN partnered with Hard Rock, Baskow & Associates and Destinations by Design who adorned the three story concert venue with black and white décor complemented by pink accents.

The non-stop entertainment line-up included the mash-up of renowned DJ Axis; celebrity impersonators; appearances by Las Vegas headliners including longtime AFAN supporters Penn & Teller; the Men of X from Hooters Casino; X Burlesque ladies from Flamingo Las Vegas; MGM Grand’s Crazy Horse Paris; Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor of Zowie Bowie; entertainer Greg London from The Riviera Hotel & Casino; ladies of the Miss USA competition; and host, local TV anchor/reporter Chris Saldana. One of the highlights of the evening was the award presentation to a dozen special attendees, that included Terri Maruca, Vice President of Kirvin Doak Communications (third from right in photo below) and Earl Shelton, Associate Publisher of QVegas, (fourth from left in photo below) who were given the honor and ‘Right to Wear Red’ for their historical support of AFAN and their work within the HIV/AIDS Community.

Guests enjoyed an evening of unique entertainment, exquisite cuisine and fresh libations. Participating restaurants included: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s own AGO, Rare 120, Johnny Smalls and Pink Taco; Todd English P.U.B., BOA Steakhouse, Match Restaurant, P.F. Chang’s, Outback Steakhouse, Rubio’s Mexican Grill and more. For thirst-quenching relief, various ice bars were hosted by top liquor sponsors, such as Jose Cuervo, Montecristo Rum, Moet Champagne, Ketel One, Belvedere Vodka and Ambhar Tequila. Other sponsors included CDI Studios, The Apothecary Shops, Valley Press, The Cookie Zoo and QVegas.

All proceeds from the evening's event benefit AFAN and the fight against HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.
