Japonais Restaurant Opens at The Mirage

My next visit was to the classy and elegant Japonais Restaurant inside The Mirage, which features modern style, intimate dining and acclaimed signature recipes. This is the third Japonais property that follows the success of both the Chicago and New York City critically acclaimed restaurants from world-renowned restaurateurs Miae Lim, Rick Wahlstedt and Jeffrey Beers (also the designer).

Japonais offers signature sushi, hot appetizers, and entrées from chefs Jun Ichikawa and Gene Kato with such fabulous menu selections as, “The Rock” – thinly sliced marinated New York strip steak cooked on a hot rock right at the table, Kani Kani snow crab claws, shrimp and crab mousse in a spicy passion fruit sauce and a variety of Robata. Hot entrees include Grilled Hamachi, Chestnut Chicken and Le Quack Japonais. And you have to taste their “Pomegranate Cooler”, “Cucumber Passion” and my personal favorite, the “Floating Orchid” cocktail, or their selection of specialty wines and sake.

The spacious restaurant includes a lounge with a Robata Grill, a large beautifully decorated main dining room with Japonais signature “Walnut Fin” ceiling, and a private dining area with a 15-foot long “Royal Mosaic” table made of gold glass which seats up to 16 guests situated in a secluded water and flora atrium environment draped in sheer white curtains. You could say that everything about Japonaise is in excellent taste.

Add both Social House and Japonais as welcome additions to the best in Las Vegas dining.
