and 8 News NOW to Host Back-To-Work Toolkit Free Workshop

WHAT:           United Way of Southern Nevada, Goodwill of Southern Nevada and 8 News NOW team up to host Back-To-Work Toolkit free workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at Heinrich YMCA. The event will provide tips and skills on how to compete in a challenging work environment including seminars on resume building, interviewing, networking, small business development and more.

This workshop is free and open to the public. Space is limited. Participants must be 18 years or older to attend.

DETAILS:       The Back-To-Work Toolkit is designed to help Southern Nevada residents improve their professional skills in order to succeed in a challenging job environment. Keynote speakers include Cass Palmer, President and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada and Punam Mathur, Vice President of Employee and Community Engagement of NV Energy. Human Resources professionals will be on hand to teach attendees everything from how to survive unemployment to networking and professional first impressions. Participants are encouraged to bring their resume. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

ABOUT:         United Way collaborates with volunteers, stakeholders and community leaders to uncover key strategies designed to develop community-based solutions to our community’s most pressing health and human service issues.
