Residential Illusionist Gayle Novak Stages a Booming Business Bash

Nationally recognized and award-winning Home Stager, Gayle Novak, who has been affectionately nicknamed “The Residential Illusionist”, celebrated being an IAHSP (International Association of Home Staging Professionals) National 2019 Trifecta Winner by throwing herself a Booming Business Bash at The Emerald at Queensridge on Wednesday evening, November 13, 2019. After suffering through a difficult year fraught with several setbacks, the resilient Las Vegas resident decided to shift her focus and concentrate on expanding her business. Using her newsletter she put the word out that she wanted to pursue receiving an IAHSP award and was inspired by the fact that she received over 200 nominations including testimonials. The effort led to her coming out on top in three out of four categories: Staging, Client Care and Industry Leadership Excellence. In order to commemorate her big win Gayle organized the resulting celebration featuring entertainment, cocktails, food, goodie bags, raffles and introductions to a variety of vendors making this a fun filled and informative networking event.

As the CEO of her own company “Enhance Your Home, LLC”, Novak is one of the few Home Stagers in the area. She holds an MBA, a Certification in Staging and Redesign, and a Luxury Home Designation. She is also a member of the Real Estate Association (RESA) earning the coveted designation of RESA-PRO. A CE Instructor in the state of Nevada and one of only two people in the state accredited to teach continuing education to Realtors, Gayle offers several CE Classes on a monthly basis along with a course called “Staged to Sell, What Every Agent Needs to Know.”

Living her life with the credo “dare to be authentic”, Gayle is proud of the fact that most of the properties she has staged have sold in three weeks or less and that her firm is the only one in town that specializes in Staging both occupied properties and vacant houses. She has developed a special concept for homes with residents she refers to as the 3 D’s – declutter, depersonalize and décor touchups and believes that the purpose of Staging is to create an ambience at the property that encourages buyers to feel at home right away and want to live there. As part of Novak’s program she tries to give Sellers more than one option: a do-it-yourself version, a choice in which she and her team do part of the work and the Seller does the rest to suit their lifestyle and a third in which everything is done for them. Everything in an occupied home includes packing up and removing personal items and clutter along with excess furniture and accessories. In a vacant property Gayle’s company can provide furniture and furnishings and recommend vendors to the Seller if repairs, carpeting or appliances are needed.

The latest addition to Novak’s business involves a joint effort with Sherwin Williams in which she provides in home color consultations so that clients can view changes to wall colors on computers before actually making a selection.

As for personal highlights, as a volunteer from the audience Novak did a comedy routine with Billy Crystal in his first HBO special. She was also undefeated during a five-day stint on “The $25,000 Pyramid” TV game show. A cancer and domestic abuse survivor Gayle has given talks about both topics on the speaker circuit.

While guests dined on cold cut and vegetable platters and dessert trays, Magician Jason Powers, who is also known as the Dream Traveler, entertained everyone with coin and card tricks, followed by Tony and Karina Rico from Las Vegas Salsa who performed several dance moves. Photographer Michael Rogers captured memorable moments while vendors chatted about their products and services with attendees. Those enjoying the occasion, while promoting their goods included: Author Mari Mitchell, Marketing Coordinator Raquel Lopez, LaTrese Yelder from Mary Kay Cosmetics, Mortgage Broker Habiba Bakous from Leader One Financial Corporation, Rodan-Fields Skin Care Consultant Dinah Ihie, Relationship Marketing Strategist Cathi Rickly and Dawna Herndon from the Boisset Wine Society.
