Miss America 2010 Contestants Arrive at Planet Hollywood
It was a busy and exciting week for the contestants who are in town for the Miss America 2010 pageant that will be broadcast live on TLC, Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. (EST)/ tape delayed (PST), from The Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino for the fifth consecutive year. The young women made several special appearances on and off the strip beginning with their arrival on Thursday January 21.
This year there will be 53 contestants competing for the crown of Miss America 2010 including the return of Miss Puerto Rico after nearly 50 years.
Miss America Contestants Enjoy an Evening on The Grand Canal at the Venetian
On Friday, January 22, all 53 contestants vying for the Miss America 2010 title took time out of their busy schedules to relax and enjoy a gondola ride down the Grand Canal at The Venetian. The contestants floated through The Grand Canal Shoppes in an authentic gondola ride serenaded by singing gondoliers.

Afterwards, the young women treated themselves to delectable desserts at a dessert reception on the bridge in Saint Mark’s Square.

Miss America Contestants Visit Buca Di Beppo Restaurant
Saturday, January 23, The 2010 Miss America contestants enjoyed another relaxing evening out before the winner is crowned, by visiting the Flamingo location of Buca di Beppo in Las Vegas. During their special appearance at the restaurant, the 53 lovely young women joined Ryan Smith, general manager, aka “paisano partner”, of Bucco di Beppo in helping to unveil, and be the first to taste, the eatery’s new enormous Brownie Sundae that will be added to Buca’s menu nationwide next month.
As it turned out, two of the contestants, Miss Pennsylvania, Shannon Boyle and Miss Delaware, Heather Lehman share the same birthday on January 23, and were surprised with a special, candle lit birthday cake. Lehman turned 21 and Doyle 25.
