Legends in Concert Celebrates 35 Year Anniversary in Las Vegas

Legends in Concert, starring the world's greatest tribute artists in a musical celebration of the most iconic entertainers of all time, celebrated its 35 year anniversary in Las Vegas on Tuesday night, July 24 at Flamingo Las Vegas.

Legends is the longest running production show on the Las Vegas strip. It opened at the Imperial Palace in 1983 and moved to the Flamingo in 2013, where it continues to entertains audiences with a cast of five amazingly talented lookalike and soundalike tributes artists that bring to life the essence, vocals, signature movements and mannerisms of the original, iconic musical legends on the Legends stage.

The anniversary performance was no exception and featured fabulous tributes to the King of Pop: Michael Jackson, The Queen of Rock: Tina Turner, country legend Johnny Cash and, for the first time on the Legends stage, rocker Jon Bon Jovi and reggae king Bob Marley, along with a live band, back up singers and dancers.

Menopause The Musical Celebrates Milestone 5,000th Show

Menopause, The Musical, the hilarious show about women and “the changes”, celebrated its 5000 show in Las Vegas on Wednesday evening, July 18, inside Harrah's Cabaret. The landmark show was welcomed by Las Vegas celebrities and VIPs who walked the red carpet before the show, including The Bronx Wanderers, Katie Kenner (Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man), Tenors of Rock, cast members from The Miss Behave Gameshow, and Clint Holmes.

As the longest running musical in Las Vegas history, 12 years and counting, that is quite an achievement and rightly deserved. The script is great, the cast of four powerhouse singer/actresses are nothing less than spectacular, and the musical parodies of classic songs from the 60's 70's and 80's are spot on and hysterical. And, for a limited time only, actress Cindy Williams (best known as Shirley from the iconic 70's TV comedy series Laverne & Shirley) is currently appearing in the show in a role written especially for her. She brings a wonderful sense of comedic timing, a great spirit, and is a delightful addition to the cast.

The milestone 5,000th performance was met with a standing ovation, after which producer Alan Glist presented the show’s cast including Lisa Mack (the professional woman), Vita Corimbi (the hippie “earth mother”), Lori Legacy (the Iowa housewife) Jacqueline Holland-Wright (the aging soap opera star), guest star Cindy Williams, and Cherity Ellen Harchis (dance captain and understudy for all 4 roles) with a celebratory cake and a proclamation from Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman declaring July 18 Menopause The Musical Day. Glist stated that along with the production in Las Vegas, the show has been produced in over 120 cities across the U.S. and in 13 countries, and has been seen by over 11 million women and men worldwide.

Glist's wife and co-producer, Kathi, who found the show and turned her husband on to the production 17 years ago, also showed up on stage with several bouquets of roses that she presented to the cast. “We’re elated to have made it to this milestone,” said Kathi. “We’re so proud of our cast and crew and grateful to our fans who made this achievement possible.”

Proving that Menopause is a show people love and enjoy going to over and over again (including yours truly), Alan Glist gave recognition to a couple in the audience from Rhode Island, Mr. and Mrs. Wall, who were seeing the show for the 54th time.

Since 2001, the show has partnered with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. to raise funds to fight breast cancer. At each show Menopause fans are sold for $1 each, with all proceeds benefiting the charity. So far, over $1 million has been raised.

Menopause The Musical® has performances Monday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., as well as an additional 4 p.m. matinee each Saturday and Monday. Tickets start at $52.95. Locals can reserve the mid-level ticket for $34.95 with the code MMLOCAL. Additional fees may apply.

George Wallace Opens New Residency at Westgate Las Vegas Las Vegas Resort & Casino

One of the funniest comedians in show business, George Wallace, who has been selling out comedy clubs and concert venues all over the world, is back performing in Las Vegas. He started his new residency show at the intimate Westgate Cabaret at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino on June 26. “I’m very happy to return to Las Vegas on a regular basis,” said George Wallace. “Time away from the city the last few years has provided me with plenty of new material and experiences to add into the show. I’m looking forward to performing in an intimate venue and thrilled to be part of the Westgate family.”

At all costs, Wallace avoids standard opening lines and is known to be an ace at reading an audience. Among other comics, Wallace is known as “the guy who can roll the room over if it’s dead.

It was a packed house at the VIP Grand Opening on July 17 and the new Mr. Vegas was in top form, livening up the room with his quick and clever wit. In fact, the funnyman had the audience roaring with laughter from the moment he came on stage. Whatever subject that comes to mind, no-one is better at finding humor in everything including world events, relationships, rappers and their “crazy names”, going to church, preachers, TV ads, what he calls “wordology”, as in the stupid use of words, and even hemorrhoids. Yet, he never stoops to vulgarity or uses foul language, which is rare these days, when listening to most stand up comedians, who somehow feel the need to push the envelope to the extreme and get down and dirty. And, although he said he didn't want to discuss politics or Republicans, when someone in the audience yelled out Donald Trump, George couldn't hold back and ran with it, poking fun at the President, but not as to go over the line.

George Wallace makes it clear, “It is all about laughter”, and he is a master at delivering the goods. The only complaint you may hear upon leaving his show, is that faces were hurting from laughing so hard.

On a footnote, during the Grand Opening performance, actress/singer Pia Zadora came on stage and presented George with a custom made birthday cake in his favorite colors of blue and green. Long time friend, singer Earl Turner, who performs with Clint Holmes in their show "Soundtrack" at the Westgate, was also in attendance, and later shared a moment on stage with George.
