Fifth Annual "Style With A Cause" Raises Funds to Benefit Communities in Schools of Nevada

More than 200 fashion-forward guests filled Andiron Steak & Sea at Downtown Summerlin on Wednesday evening, September 27, for the fifth annual "style with a cause," benefitting Communities in Schools of Nevada (CIS of Nevada) to help increase student graduation rates and prepare students for college.

The fun, fashioned filled evening kicked off with a cocktail reception featuring tasty bites provided by Andiron, cocktails by Tito's Handmade Vodka, beauty bars by Sephora, a braid bar by Kelly Cardenas Salon, and decorated vignettes by West Elm and Ethan Allen. Guests were also able to experience tarot card readings or spiritual cleanses from local energy healers and psychics, as well as pose for pictures in an empowerment mirror filled with positive affirmations.

Host Denise Valdez from the local CBS affiliate KLAS-TV welcomed everyone as they took their seats for a fashion show showcasing the latest trends presented by Dillard's. Attendees also followed the journey of this year's beauty transformation recipient, Karen Belote-Stevens from CIS of Nevada, as footage was shown of her makeover. Her final look was then unveiled as she walked down the LED-lit runway revealing a new hairstyle by Kelly Cardenas Salon, wardrobe by Dillard's, and makeup by Sephora.

Burgerim Brings New Burger Concept to Las Vegas

Burgerim, a new gourmet burger-and-fry eatery, serving “always more than one” , made its debut in Las Vegas on Friday evening, September 29, at 9635 Bermuda Road and East Silverado Blvd. To celebrate the new location, there was a ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance of the 1,728 square foot burger joint followed by a grand opening party where guests were offered a free duo combo (two burgers, fries and a soft drink). There were also games, giveaways (such as T-shirts and wrist bands) and prizes (that included free uno combo dinner coupons) throughout the night.

The first Burgerim restaurant, offering a shiny new concept, opened in Israel in 2011, and has since expanded as an international franchise, with hopes of now making its mark in Las Vegas.

Burgerim's unique approach is that it serves up customized 2.8 oz gourmet mini burgers by the pack, offering diners package choices of uno, duo, trio or party box of sixteen. The assortment of patty options include beef, dry aged beef, Wagyu beef, merguez, salmon, veggie, lamb, turkey, chicken, falafel, alongside choices of gourmet toppings such as sautéed mushrooms, pineapple, sunny-side up eggs and more, all bursting with flavor. All burgers come with American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions and house sauce and your choice of three buns, white, wheat, gluten free (for an extra 55 cents) or lettuce wrap.

Also on the menu are chicken wings, salads, sandwiches and sides of fries and onion rings. As for those with dietary preferences or restrictions like vegetarian, gluten free, and vegan, delicious alternatives are also provided. And, if satisfying your sweet tooth is next on your plate, dessert options are the sinfully delicious New York Cheesecake, Marshmallow Dream and Flourless Chocolate Cake (gluten free).

Burgerim's goal is to provide incredible taste at a modest price point in a welcoming, stylish atmosphere. In addition to a unique and flavorful experience, the designer restaurant features a modern and inviting décor, a staff that are well practiced in ensuring consistent and excellent customer service and, unlike most fast food restaurants, provides delivery for your convenience.
