Imagine Dragons Honored with Memorabilia Case Dedication at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
Las Vegas’ hometown rockers and Grammy -nominated Imagine Dragons commemorated their breakout year by unveiling their first-ever memorabilia case inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Monday, Dec. 30.
Bobby Reynolds, vice president of booking for AEG Live Las Vegas, and Chas Smith, vice president of entertainment for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, were on hand to congratulate the band on their record-breaking year and welcome the musicians back to their hometown.
Before addressing a crowd of adoring fans, Imagine Dragons band members Dan Reynolds (vocals), Ben McKee (bass), Daniel Platzman (Drums), and Wayne Sermon (guitar) ripped off the covered case to reveal a full display of signature memorabilia from the band’s career. After, Dan Reynolds took the microphone to thank Hard Rock Hotel and fans for their support.
The special display, located right inside of the property from the main valet, features iconic items from the band’s music video “On Top of the World” including all four custom-made astronaut suits, an American flag, an Earth decorated beach ball, a small satellite dish and more. In addition, the case will be home to the rope that lead singer Dan Reynolds used to fly over the audience during Imagine Dragons’ sold-out February 2013 show at The Joint as well as an autographed copy of the property’s in-room Hard Rock Hotel Magazine, featuring the band on the cover.
The same evening, Imagine Dragons said goodbye to the final days of 2013 with a special sold out performance inside The Joint. The Las Vegas-based rockers were joined by special guests The Mowgli’s and Parade of Lights. Following, Dan Reynolds performed a DJ set inside Body English Nightclub & Afterhours.

In honor of Elvis’ birthday, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, the first 100 guests who dress as The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll will receive a complimentary ticket to that evening’s 7 p.m. performance of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. Guests must appear in person dressed as Elvis beginning at 5 p.m. on Jan. 8 at the Harrah’s Las Vegas box office to receive their ticket, must stay in costume for the duration of the show, and must also agree to a photo on stage following the performance. One ticket will be offered per individual dressed as Elvis and all tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The tickets are only valid for the performance on Jan. 8.
LAND ROVER LAS VEGAS, along with THINKFIRSTNEVADA and RICARDO LAGUNA, team up once again in an effort to educate young people about the importance of making safe decisions. From 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, Jan. 11at Land Rover Las Vegas 5255, West Sahara Avenue, kids will have the chance to meet the BMX star and receive a free helmet from ThinkFirst Nevada. Additionally, Laguna and friends will put on a BMX demonstration for everyone and other entertainment, including a magic show by magician Seth Grabel and funk-style dancing by Angel Escamilla to keep the energy going throughout the event. Food trucks will also be onsite with items for sale and the Clark County School District police will be onsite showcasing their vehicles and holding various activities. Kids must be present for helmet fitting and helmets are available while supplies last.
The Venetian Las Vegas welcomes back award winning comedienne RITA RUDNER to The Sands Showroom stage for limited engagements in 2014 beginning Sunday, Jan. 19. Rudner’s show is at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $59 and $79, inclusive of tax and fees. A limited number of VIP Packages, which include a pre-show photo and an exclusive Rita Rudner ring, are available for $109 per person, inclusive of tax and fees.
Ska musicians THE ENGLISH BEAT will perform at the Hard Rock Cafe at Hard Rock Hotel as part of the Cafe’s FREE live music program on Friday, January 17. Showtime is 9 p.m. Admission is free. 2-for-1 Miller Lite during shows. 15% off food and non-alcoholic beverages for locals with valid photo ID during shows.
Famed musician, songwriter and former lead singer of the Canadian band The Guess Who, BURTON CUMMINGS, will bring his timeless sound to The Orleans Showroom on January 17 and 18. Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets start from $39.95, plus tax and convenience fees.
Faith Lutheran Theatre Company’s International Thespian Society presents the high school theater production of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE at the Performing Arts Center at Faith Lutheran High School Jan. 17 – 26, 2014 for six memorable performances, including matinee and evening show times. Entertaining audiences with unstoppable humor and a bold score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a five-time Tony Award-winning musical with a hilarious storyline that pays tribute to the dazzling spirit of old-school American musical comedies. Performances of The Drowsy Chaperone can be seen at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, along with 4 p.m. matinee performances on Sunday. Tickets are $10.
The Broadway-style comedy PAWN SHOP LIVE!, a parody of the story behind HISTORY’s reality smash hit “Pawn Stars,” is set to open at the Gordie Brown Showroom inside the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday, Jan. 21. PAWN SHOP LIVE! includes story contributions from Rick Harrison and the Harrison family. The break-out stars of the TV show have fully endorsed the production, which will run Tuesday through Saturday at 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and are priced at $24.95, $29.95 and $39.95 (tax and fees are additional).
Multi talented illusionist, SETH GRABEL, featured on America's Got Talent, is performing his variety magic show in the Madrid Theater at Sunset Station Casino for one night only, Jan. 19th at 7PM. Seth Grabel has developed a unique fusion of entertainment, combining acrobatics with illusions creating “Acrobatic Magic”, a family friendly show with a hint of surprise and character. GALAXY GREEN VALLEY LUXURY+ THEATRE will host the 2014 INAUGURAL HALF SEASON OF CINEMA SOCIETY OF LAS VEGAS making its Las Vegas debut on Jan. 27 with season opener Spinning Plates. Las Vegans will soon be able to experience prestige motion pictures by top major and independent studios on a monthly basis from the comfort of a Luxury+ theater. Each showing will feature a pre-show cinema chat with Cinema Society of Las Vegas Director, Andrew Friedenberg, and key members from the film (directors, producers, cast, cameramen, etc. based on availability), along with an open forum for informative discussion following the screening. Season tickets can be purchased at www.cinemasociety.com for $55 and include admission to all four movies.
Multi-talented country singer, DOLLY PARTON, will perform her celebrated hits at Primm Valley Casino Resorts’ Star of the Desert Arena on January 25, 2014. Showtime is 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $68.45 to $111.70 (including taxes and fees).
SHELBI SCHROEBER'S EXHIBITION, “INDEFINITE OBSESSION,” will be held in Grant Hall Gallery, located on the UNLV campus, from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. The exhibition is open to the public daily from 9am-5:30pm, with an opening reception on Fri., Jan. 31 from 6-9pm.
THE VENETIAN AND THE PALAZZO kick-off the YEAR OF THE HORSE with a ceremonial dragon dance complete with firecrackers and eye painting ceremony. The colorful event will feature a parade of dancers and drummers dressed in authentic costumes as they make their way throughout the properties. The kick-off DRAGON DANCE takes place on Friday Jan. 31 at 3pm beginnning with an eye painting ceremony at The Venetian porte cochere, making its way through the casino to The Waterfall Atrium & Gardens of The Palazzo, and continuing through The Palazzo.
To commemorate the Year of the Horse, the resort’s floral and horticulture department worked with a team of artisans, and consulted with a Feng Shui master, to produce the massive “YEAR OF THE HORSE” ART INSTALLATION. Guests are invited to visit the captivating beauty of this display in The Waterfall Atrium & Gardens of The Palazzo. Year of the Horse art installation will run through Feb. 16.
Legendary controversial comedian ANDREW DICE CLAY’s one-of-a-kind residency at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas’ award-winning venue Vinyl has been extended through March 2014 with the addition of 15 shows. Following a hugely-successful 18-show run in late 2013, Grammy Award-winning musician and acclaimed actor MEAT LOAF will return to the RockTellz & CockTails stage at the PH Showroom inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Kicking off the 2014 series, Meat Loaf will perform 24 dates, beginning Feb. 13, which promises an unparalleled lineup of artists.
