Show Support for Robert W. Lueck
Las Vegas businesswoman and “Harpist Extraordinaire” Caryn Gott, whose
talent on the harp has brought her to play with a vast number of stars
such as Sinatra, Sammy, Manilow, Dolly and Pavarotti to name a few,
opened her beautiful home, a luxurious mansion in Green Valley, to
celebrities and supporters of Robert W. Lueck’s campaign for election to
Family Court. Gott’s home is one she designed herself, and it is simply
beautiful and impressive with a marble entryway, a curved rich mahogany
double staircase leading to the second floor and a spacious first floor
living room that has been specially designed for perfect acoustics,
which this evening proved was worth the effort.

Along with a raffle drawing and silent auction to raise
funds for Lueck’s campaign, invited guests were treated to an open bar,
food and an evening of entertainment to remember, that included members
of “The Rat Pack”, or rather Las Vegas’s own tribute to the legendary
Frank Sinatra and his stellar sidekicks, Dean and Sammy. “At Your
Service” catered the affair and served up a delectable buffet of tender
turkey and prime rib along with shrimp, a variety of cheeses, breads,
and salad. For dessert, a chocolate fountain with nibbles of rice
crispies, marshmallows, strawberries, pineapple and pretzels tempted
those with a sweet tooth.

Auction items for the fundraiser
Mark Shaffer, publisher of The Best Restaurant Guide of
Las Vegas in attendance with his lovely wife Tammy, generously donated
the great raffle prizes that consisted of two rounds of golf at Revere
Country Club, four tickets to Thunder Down Under, and two romantic
dinners for two at restaurants from the Best Restaurant Guide.

Caryn Gott, along with three of her gifted students and
her mult- talented 15-year old son Charlie (who along with his sister,
Michele, attend Julliard’s School of Music), presented a wonderful
concert of harps and piano. Gott also showcased her son Charlie, who
performed an elaborate version of “Chopsticks” on the marimba, to which
she accompanied him on the harp. But, this was just the beginning of an
entertainment filled evening for a worthy cause. Comedy was provided by
Frank Grata, who delivered dry wit as Rodney Dangerfield. Herb Rawlings,
Jr. (Sammy Davis Jr.), Robert Ensler (Dean Martin) and “Frank the Voice”
(Frank Sinatra) performed individually as well as together. Ensler as
Dean, sang some of his standards, “Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime,”
“Kick in the Head,” “That’s Amore”, Rawlings as Sammy sang “Hey There,
You With the Stars in Your Eyes,” “That Old Black Magic,” and “Mr. Bo
Jangles.” Frank “The Voice” crooned, “I’m in Love,” “You’ll Never Get
Rid of Me,” and other songs. The Rat Pack also performed “The Lady is a
Tramp” from the movie “Pal Joey”.

Stephen Plummer, with his fine operatic voice, added to
the festivities. Formerly with the Los Angeles Music Center Opera,
Plummer worked with Placido Domingo for eight seasons and was his
understudy in “La Boheme”. Ned Mills was the accompanist on piano and
Charlie Gott performed on drums. Brian Hoffman, in the persona of Red
Skelton’s beloved character, Freddie the Freeloader, wandered among the
audience.
