Larry
Wayne Morbitt
The City of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs presented the Downtown
Cultural Series which featured Larry Wayne Morbitt. Larry sang opera,
Broadway and pop music to more than 200 people who attended. Many gifted
performers come from all over the world to perform.

Larry is currently playing the role of Ubaldo Piangi in the Phantom of
the Opera at the Venetian. He has played this role on Broadway for over
7 years and over 2 years in the Switzerland production, and he has
mastered the part. His strong powerful voice sent tremors throughout my
body during his performance. Larry sang The Impossible Dream from "Man
of La Mancha", They call the Wind Maria from Paint Your Wagon, Make
Someone Happy from Do Re Mi, Night and Day from Cole Porter, La Donna e
mobile from Rigoletto. My favorite song was The Music of the Night from
the Phantom of the Opera which received a standing ovation.

It was thrilling to listen to Larry's heartwarming performance and I
could see the smiles on everyone’s face in the audience, mine included.
He took the time to explain what each song meant. We felt his warmth and
his charm.

He has such a gentleness and peacefulness about him, that comes
from his religious upbringing and his full time ministry of music. His
spiritual journey is reflected in his new album entitled “Larry Wayne
Morbitt”. Another recent album is “Heaven and Hope” which he dedicated
to the 9/11 heroes. He donated the net proceeds to the FDNY & NYPD.
Larry sings and worships in local churches and performs all over the
United States.
During the performance Larry introduced Kristi Holden, who plays
Christine in Phantom of the Opera and David Kancsar who accompanied him
on the piano. David is currently the assistant conductor of The
Producers at the Paris Hotel.

Kristi, Nikki and Larry
After the concert ended Larry took the time to talk to everyone. He was
charming, warm, friendly and had a sparkle in his eyes. He made me
feel like we had known each other for a long time. I encourage everyone
to take the time to go and see him perform in “The Phantom of the
Opera”.
