Doggone
Silly
I
spent such a delightful Sunday afternoon at the Harmon Theater at Krave
in Planet Hollywood. I went to see the Doggone Silly Dog Show with my
grand daughter Melissa.
From the moment the first dog came walking out on two legs and dressed
in street clothes, a smile never left my face. How adorable, how cute,
how magical it was to see these precious dogs. I also loved the dog on
the scooter. There were many unusual props that caught my attention as
the dogs came out dressed in costumes.
All of these dogs have been rescued and now were being loved and well
taken care of by JR Johns and Diane Sebastian, his partner.

JR John has worked so magnificently with his special dogs. He artfully
moves without a sound and the dogs respond. He reminded me of a Red
Skelton character. Doggone Silly mixes slap stick and vaudeville with
lots of jumping and rolling around with "the guys". He likes to call his
dogs “The Guys”.

JR & Melissa Owens
JR works right along with "the guys" and he works just as hard. The dogs
are very sharp and very intuitive and know exactly what to do. The
treats are bountiful and they deserve every treat they get. During some
parts of the show, a video was played that showed the dogs at home,
running and playing.

JR & Badger
JR's home features a pet nursery with individual beds for all of the
dogs. What's wonderful is JR has not only saved their lives, he has
given them a great life full of love and fun. They bring happiness to
all that see them perform in the show.
JR said that people who own dogs live an extra 5 years. With all the
dogs he has, he will live longer than the extra 5 years. JR has such a
strong bond with all his dogs and puts the time into all of them to see
what they are capable of doing. It is a serious commitment. One of his
dogs, Nicky was in the movie “Little Nicky” with Adam Sandler. You must
see this movie. It is heart warming. JR has appeared on the Jay Leno
Show, America’s Got Talent, David Letterman’s Stupid Dog Show and
America’s Favorite Canine Friends.
Also assisting JR is Spike McGuire who not only works backstage with the
dogs, but who also is a master of the Yo Yo.

His many skills include juggling and plate spinning and his exciting
Hula Ball Hoop that he rotates simultaneously with 3 spinning plates and
a Yo Yo in each hand. His co-ordination is amazing.

Spike McGuire
Spike debuted his act when he was 4 years old in the Reno Hilton and has
since been an Emcee and opening act for comedy clubs, variety shows and
for “The Village People”. It was so refreshing to see him do his routine
and I was impressed with his energy as he moved across the stage.
Bring yourself, your smiles and your sense humor to this show which
people of all ages will enjoy.
Showtime is at 3:00pm Tuesday thru Sunday.

The Innocence
and Wisdom of Youth
By Michelle Nicole
There's
nothing more earth shatteringly devastating as a death of a loved one.
In contrast, there's nothing more astoundingly brilliant as a birth of a
new child. The circle of life goes on and on through every tear and
every smile.
So what is it about the entrance and exit of this world that frightens
and amazes us so much? Perhaps it is the unknown world that awaits us at
the end of this life. Or maybe it's the ending of the life we've come to
know and become attached to. I once read about someone who had a near
death experience. She said that upon her exiting her body she looked at
herself and felt a sadness at the life she was leaving. It made me think
about how I would feel.
I cherish the life I've lived so dearly, from my childhood up until now.
I think I would look back upon my life with sadness because even though
I spent so much of it longing for a different phase of my life, it was
all beautiful and perfect. Every person who was involved in my life,
every tear I cried, every smile, every ounce of love I engulfed which
had come to me...I would miss so dearly.
So why waste time worrying...worrying about health, death, money, etc.
because in the end, it won't mean anything. If it does anything at all,
it would only bring regret for wasting precious moments of this life
that deep down we all do love. The best way to live life is in the now.
Smile at strangers, do something nice for someone, give love to everyone
you know because it will not only help others, but yourself, as well.
And then perhaps when you look back at your life as you leave this
world, you won't be sad. You'll be grateful for every moment you had
because you used it wisely.
