The
Human Body Becomes A Live Canvas
Body painting, called "make-up artistry" is the ultimate in human body
expression. I was inspired by Pashur’s work, which is absolutely breath
taking and I became an instant fan. I found myself wanting to paint
bodies. www.canvasalive.com
Pashur creates a masterpiece and the models take on a beautiful position
of elegance and beauty and their aura’s are stunning. I went to his web
site and was mesmerized by his paintings. He is called the Picasso of
body painting.
Pashur attended art school in Memphis TN and then worked as an
illustrator and then a body painter. He worked at conventions, clubs,
parties, events and fashion shows. At one fashion show he spent 14 hours
painting the models. Now you know he must love his work when he can work
that many hours.

Pashur & Nikki
I had the privilege to spend 5 hours with Pashur at the Voo Doo Lounge
at The Rio last Thursday. I heard he was coming to town and I wrote to
him and asked to meet with him so I could write a story. He invited me
to attend the event and I was very excited. I walked into the Voo Doo
Lounge, which was packed with hundreds of people, the lights were dim,
the music was loud and then I heard my name being called in the crowd. I
turned and there was Pashur with a hugh smile, beautiful eyes, and a
handsome young face. He took me under his wing and we went to the room
where he was going to paint the models. The first model had not arrived
yet, so I asked him to paint my chest while we waited. The colors
matched my outfit perfectly and I was thrilled to have Pashur paint me.

Jessica Mammem
Jessica Mammem was the first American Model to be painted. There was a
bikini contest that night and they were to be the models for the
American Models Show. What a hit the 3 girls were. When we entered the
main lounge all the men wanted to take pictures and crowd around them.
What a sight to behold! Pashur had to be very proud of his work and the
sponsors were very pleased to watch the reaction of the crowd.

Jessica Mammen.
Pashur starts out by putting pasties on the girls and then uses air
brushing and paint brushes. He creates as he goes along as if he is
painting a live canvas. It took 2 hours to paint Jessica and she looked
very relaxed and comfortable the entire time as I sat and watched. I was
so impressed with his work as he took great care with each stroke of the
brush.

After the contest was over we went on the roof top and mingled with the
crowd and took magnificent pictures with the lights of the strip in the
background. The girls glided along the roof top with such ease and an
energy of being free…..after all, they were nude, except for a g-string
and shorts. With their great bodies, painted by the master, they drew
the attention of everyone.
Now for the good news. Pashur said he would come back to Las Vegas to
give classes on air brush body painting. An 8 hour day from 10:00am to
6:00pm, including lunch for 10 students. I definitely will be number 1.

You can use these lessons to paint your friends, family, lovers etc. Who
knows; you may end up being another Picasso and start your own body
painting business.
Body painters who want to brush up on their techniques can take this
class from the master of make-up artistry and body painting.
The Star
Trek Convention at The Hilton
A small wonder with a big heart, that is Felix Silla of Star Trek and
numerous movies and TV shows. The most famous was Return of the Jedi as
Ewok, Planet of the Apes as the baby Gorilla, Buck Rogers as Twiki and
the Adams Family as Cousin Itt. Felix said many of his fans will remind
him of the roles he has played. He said they always remember. His resume
is filled with acting characters in Film, Television and Theatre.

We found Felix once again at the world’s largest gathering of Star Trek
fans at the Las Vegas Hilton. He was among many of the stars who had
gathered for the four day event, along with Leonard Nimoy and William
Shatner.

Also on stage was Suzie Plakson, who was K’Ehleyr in the Next
Generation, Tarah on The Enterprise and Female Q in Voyager. Sharing the
hour with her was Patty Yasutake who was Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in The Next
Generation. The crowd clapped and laughed at their stories and the room
was filled with love and admiration. Suzie announced she has a country
album called "Tennessee Rifle Company" and she sang one of her songs.
She sounded great.
I would like to thank Adam Malin co founder of Creation Entertainment
for inviting us to cover the convention this year. We look forward to
next year when it will be extended to a 5 day event on August 6th to10th
2008.

Adam & Nikki.
This will allow more time for guests to appear on stage and allow more
time for everyone to look at all the merchandise and visit the stars who
have tables set up for autographs. Felix had so many of his pictures set
up on his tables and many fans stopped by to say hello and buy them.

Charlton Heston & Felix Silla
Our good friend Arleen Martel who played T Pring, the betrothed to Dr.
Spock was also busy greeting fans and posing for pictures.

She also has many fans who stop by her table and talk about her many
roles and many films that she has appeared in over the years.
www.startrek.com I am amazed
at all the Star Trek fans that come to the conventions. I am most
impressed at the auctions where memorabilia is auctioned off for
thousands of dollars. I must say, there are a lot of wealthy and
dedicated Star Trek fans all over the world and I can just picture the
premiere of the new movie to be released in December. I will have to go
and see what all the fuss is about.
