Who’s Got Juice?
Last Sunday, I ventured out to the Bellagio eager to check out the 30
and under “Movers and Shakers” party being thrown by the guys at 'Spy On
Las Vegas', and hosted by the ever so charming media darlings ‘The Light
Group’. Curiosity was the driving urge for me to attend this event. I
wanted to know what the people of my age group were up to. It’s a pretty
major feat to be considered any type of player on the Las Vegas scene.
There are so many entrepreneurs, hustlers, and real estate moguls that
make up a majority of the population in the desert. However, the
individuals invited to this party were hard workers, and definitely part
of the new generation moving into the forefront, molding and shaping our
society with new ideas and a motivation to be successful.

Abby Tegnelia - Editor In Chief of Item Magazine
For those of you who may not be familiar with Light nightclub, it is
located inside the awesome Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Each month the
Bellagio changes the scenery with stunning visual displays (and it’s not
just the people that hang out at the casino). When I went into the
hotel, I was struck by a replica of an Emperor’s Imperial Garden, which
was absolutely gorgeous. On the left of the walkway sat a 50 foot pink
pig, encrusted with glitter, and a shiny red apple sitting in its mouth.
A huge Emperor sat right at the entrance of the garden, and was so
lifelike. The details were so exact, and the lotus blossoms were
colorful and stunning. It really was inspiring to see such creativity
and vision, which ties in with the stellar individuals born after 1977.
I have to say even the invitees work really hard. The energy at the club
that night was absolutely hot. There were so much charisma circulating
around the atmosphere, I thought I was partying with the Hollywood
Elite. The movers and shakers very much mirrors the young Hollywood
mindset in a way, with an entourage of picturesque babes and beaus
hanging from their arms. Tables were packed with the big spenders
popping bottles of only the best champagne, and living the night up to
the fullest. You would think with the career driven clientele at the
party, a display of egotism and arrogance would be pouring out into the
crowd, but this certainly was not the case. This scene was a
celebration. Go go dancers were working the poles in Victoria Secrets
Lingerie. Resident DJ Crooked played the right music to keep the crowd
enticed. With all the elements involved, this looked like one long rap
video. I caught myself nodding my head and really tempted to join
everyone on the dance floor, but hey, I was there for other reasons.

I ran into a photographer from 504 Magazines that pointed me in the
right direction, and introduced me to absolutely fabulous Jake Seedy,
who was a very gracious host. I was able to snag a picture of Abby
Tegnelia, who wasn’t in the mood to strike a pose. It was ironic to see
someone so accomplished on the human side. No one wants to take a
picture towards the end of night when your hairs all fallen, eyeliner a
little smudged, and lipstick no longer existing. But, she looked
beautiful anyway. Just a little background on Abby - she was recently
named the new Editor and Chief of Item Magazine, and has worked at New
York Magazine, and also US Weekly (just to name a few of the magazines
on her impressive resume). One article in particular touched on the term
‘Girl’ coming back in style. In essence the article reflected on how
this word actually represents a lifestyle; a new interpretation of young
modern women that are single, successful, and independent. It was
refreshing that Abby wasn’t that thrilled to giggle and smile for the
camera, because she really didn’t have to. She was there as a respected
journalist, not just a chick in the hot guys black book.

Next, Jake introduced me to Andrew Wilson, who was not at all shy in
front of the camera, and currently is the Casino Host of the Wynn Hotel
in Las Vegas. Andrew was sitting on top of one of the couches in the VIP
section, and was handed a 'Spy On Las Vegas' gift bag, which he showed
off in the picture. There were other guests on the list I wasn’t able to
run into, because they were spread all over the place like a kid in a
candy store.
Everyone at Light was full of life and still had childlike qualities.
This was an impressive bunch of peeps, and I really enjoyed myself that
night. It will be interesting to see what other accomplishments this
group will be up to in the near future.
