PT’s Strikes Gold Again
There’s a new gathering place in Henderson, and it’s an old friend. PT’s
Gold Las Vegas opened its newest pub at 2890 Bicentennial Parkway
precisely at midnight on Saturday, October 13. Members of the media got
a preview of the pub from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, October 12.
The décor is full of stone slabs and wood beams in tones of yellow,
gold, orange, brown, and beige to lend a warm feel to the interior. The
bar has several flat screen TVs mounted in the center, so either side
could view a selection of sports games or TMZ. Vintage photos of Las
Vegas adorned the walls, bringing glimpses of history and nostalgia into
the venue; for the younger ones, these were the only introduction they
would have to a long-gone era. The space is separated into a smaller,
quieter gathering place toward the front and a much larger and
boisterous space featuring tables, booths, and plenty of places at the
bar to accommodate the near capacity crowd.

While we were there, someone hit a $10,000 jackpot on one of the bar’s
video screens. Talk about beginner’s luck! And the place hadn’t even
officially opened yet (it would at midnight).
Friendly female servers in blue halter tops and name tags carried tray
after tray of culinary treats from kitchen. Among the offerings: spicy
jumbo shrimp, chicken empanadas, barbecued chicken pizza, pulled pork
sandwiches, mini sliders, and Buffalo wings and sushi. You know what
these taste like, just raise the flavor factor up several notches and
you have the PT’s Gold version. Frequently the tray would be empty by
the time it got to our table with so many hands grabbing at it.
Fortunately, we had intrepid souls willing to venture into the crowd for
a pre-emptive strike, so most of the different types of food came into
striking range.

Specialty drinks like the rum-based Luca Lemonade, the tequila-based
Golden Maggie, and the Sartini, described as “shaken like a British
nanny” and served with two bleu cheese olives were provided by the
obliging circular bar, as well as San Pellegrino and sugar free Red Bull
for those of us who don’t imbibe (rare, indeed, ay)?. All shades of
beer, from brilliant gold to deep amber in huge glass mugs were observed
on trays and in hands.
The wait staff is professional and accommodating. Our server actually
arranged for a specially prepared arugula and pear salad for a
vegetarian patron. The fabulous creation included candied walnuts,
crispy, caramelized onions, goat cheese, all tossed in a balsamic
vinaigrette. Tasting like a dessert with the health benefits of a salad,
it was the equivalent of bar food utopia amid the enthusiastic but
decidedly carnivorous atmosphere.
Corporate trainer Dina Babb was on hand to help with the serving,
leading by example. The wait staff is carefully screened and trained so
that the above-average expectation of excellence is met and retained. We
congratulated Dina on a job well done.

Unique to PT’s and its affiliates is the unique Golden Rewards program.
It offers tavern patrons unparalleled rewards with a twist - the Golden
Key. The newest reward is Golden Jackpot. You can win up to $20 in
instant bonus cash just by being logged on with a Golden Key. Tiny flags
attesting to this were served with each mini-burger (called Sliders).
Management proudly asserts that their operations focus on local
residents through local casinos, neighborhood taverns and gaming devices
provided at licensed locations such as convenience stores, grocery
stores, and other establishments.

There are nine PT’s Gold in Las Vegas, three in Henderson. Affiliate
PT’s Pub has sixteen Las Vegas locations and one in Henderson. PT’s
Place has four locations in Las Vegas and one in Henderson. Add Sierra
Gold, Sparky’s, Gold Bar and Sierra Junction (some in the Reno/Sparks
area) and you have 44 locations in Nevada.
Lucky for you, one of them is bound to be near.
