Madame Tussauds Las Vegas Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Exhibit Features Hispanic Celebrities and Leaders

Las Vegas (September 6, 2008) – Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is proud to announce the launch of their first-ever Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit. The exhibit consists of well-known celebrity Hispanic wax figures such as Salma Hayek, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, along with biographical presentations of other Hispanic leaders that have impacted our growing community. The exhibit is on display in the attraction’s Spirit of America room and will continue through October 15.

To kick-off the exhibit, Madame Tussauds hosted a ‘cultural day’ at the attraction, which featured the talents of local Hispanic entertainment acts, showcasing musical and dance performances from a variety of Hispanic cultures. Entertainers included the Sociedad Cultural Hispana and El Jalicience.

The exhibit marked the first year Madame Tussauds has featured a Hispanic based exhibit. “We are very excited to reach out to the Hispanic community and present to them a meaningful exhibit that celebrates their spirit and culture through our unique perspective,” said Rosita Chapman, Attraction Manager. The Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit will become a yearly installation, and guests this year will be able to cast their votes for the next Hispanic figure to be added to the exhibit for 2009. In addition to learning about the accomplishments of famed Hispanic leaders and celebrities, guests at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas will be able to take photos with their favorite Hispanic wax figures.
