Jersey Boys Celebrates 2nd anniversary at the Palazzo

The Las Vegas production of the 2006 Tony Award award winning, international acclaimed, hit musical Jersey Boys celebrated its second anniversary at the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino on Saturday evening, April 24. The show, told in four seasonal chapters, recalls the rise to fame of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, one of the most popular and successful American pop/rock vocal groups of all time (in 1990 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), and features such hits as Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Rag Doll, Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, Walk Like a Man and many more.

Following the conclusion of the show, during curtain call, lead performers Rick Faugno (Frankie Valli), Peter Saide (Bob Gaudio), Deven May (Tommy DeVito), Jeff Leibow (Nick Massi) and the rest of cast were joined live on stage by two original members of the Four Seasons, lead singer Frankie Valli and founding member Bob Gaudio, who played keyboard and wrote their songs. Kevin Gore of Rhino Records presented the legendary musicians with an honorary Platinum record in recognition of one million sales of the original Broadway cast recording of Jersey Boys. Moments later, a signature Platinum Record cake was brought out to commemorate the two year anniversary of the Las Vegas show. Reaching Platinum status, or 1 million copies sold, is a rarity for a cast album. The group also celebrated with a VIP reception at CUT by Wolfgang Puck prior to the performance.

Since its opening performance at the Palazzo on May 3, 2008, (which, co-incidently, was Frankie Valli's 74th birthday) Jersey Boys has, night after night, embraced Las Vegas audiences and is one of the best shows in town. For entertainment value, the show is a must see.

Performances of Jersey Boys at the Palazzo are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dark on Wednesday.
