MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT (October 7)
The Department of Fine Arts’ Choral and Instrumental programs present a memorable evening of music and song, to raise money for the Joe Williams Music Scholarship. This scholarship, established in 1989, has assisted over 400 CSN students to achieve their music education goals.  The concert will be held on Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. $8 adults, $5 students/seniors. For reservations, call 702-651-LIVE (5483). “CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION” by Annie Baker (October 10-19)
The Department of Fine Arts presents Annie Baker’s comedy/drama, Circle Mirror Transformation, which won the 2009 Obie Award for Best New American Play and traces the lives of a handful of small-town New Englanders who enroll in a 6-week drama class at a local community center. Performances are Oct. 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. in the BackStage Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. INFORMAL DANCE CONCERT (October 28)
Experience what transpires in the wide array of the Department of Fine Arts’ Dance classes including ballet, ballroom, jazz, middle eastern dance, modern dance, and yoga.               Special presentations from the CSN Dance Club and Improvisation class will be included. The performance is on Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. FREE admission. VOCAL JAZZ SOLO NIGHTS  (November 7 & 8)
The Department of Fine Arts’ Jazz Singers will showcase their talent on Nov. 7 and 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. “THE SEA GULL” by Anton Chekhov (November 14-23)

The Department of Fine Arts’ Theatre presents Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov’s “The Sea Gull,” in a new version by Jean-Claude van Itallie. Written in 1895, it is a classic play of the modern theatre--an ensemble piece that explores love, missed connections, and what it means to be an artist in the theatre. Performances are Nov. 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 16 and 23, at 2 p.m. in the Backstage Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. ORCHESTRA (December 1)
The Department of Fine Arts’ Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Davis, performs a variety of classical music selections by acclaimed composers of the genre. FALL DANCE CONCERT - (December 5 & 6)

The CSN Dance Ensemble, the internationally acclaimed Concert Dance Company, and special guests present a fun semester-ending performance, under the direction of Kelly Roth. MARIACHI BAND (December 8)

The Department of Fine Arts’ newest performing ensemble, under the direction of Adalberto Garcia, presents a lively concert of mariachi music on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. 8 adults, $5 students/seniors.


CONCERT BAND (December 9)
The Department of Fine Arts’ Concert Band, directed by Dr. Richard McGee, performs traditional favorites and holiday selections on Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. $8 adults, $5 students/seniors.

BIG BAND & STEEL DRUM BAND CONCERT (December 10)
The Department of Fine Arts’ Wednesday Night Jazz Band, led by Dr. Richard McGee, and the Calypso Coyote Steel Drum Band, directed by Robert Bonora, entertain with a fun mix of jazz tunes and the lively pan music of Jamaica on Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas. $8 adults, $5 students/seniors.

 

WINTER CHORAL CONCERT                 (December 11)
The Department of Fine Arts’ vocal ensembles--Chamber Chorale, College Singers, Jazz Singers and members of the voice classes—perform a semester ending concert on Dec.11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave., North Las Vegas.               $8 adults, $5 students/seniors.
