Jeff McBride’s Home Befits His Magical Career“Yule Be Amazed” Was Amazing
I had the privilege and pleasure of attending magician Jeff McBride’s invitation only “Yule Be Amazed” party at his home on December 27th. The invitation called it a “House of Mystery.” Intriguing! I had no idea what to expect, but I had just seen his extraordinary show for the first time in November and became a fan immediately. His stage performances currently blend elements of kabuki, with traditional conjuring.

The home that Jeff shares with his wife and helpmate of 20 years Abbi and their high school age daughter is decorated and filled with his numerous masks and his personality

The guests at the party included many of Jeff’s current and former students at McBride’s Magic and Mystery School. Pictured are (l-r) Scott Hitchcock, Nancy Roth and Sally, Naphtalia, Bram Charles, Jeff McBride, and JP.

I felt like I had been invited into a private world and I was filled with wonder. Everywhere I turned, magicians were performed magic for those gathered around them.

Lights sparkled on the ceilings and walls, matching the sparkle in Jeff’s eyes. If you have never seen him, Jeff exudes a boyish charm. I felt that although he has been performing professionally for more than 35 years, he still has the wonder of a young boy seeing his first magic trick. He embraces and enjoys the world he joined and helps to constantly recreate.

The party was televised on the internet and can be viewed at www.streetofcards.com., part of the Independent magicians Network S.O.C. TV We all brought way too many desserts and when the party ended at midnight Abbi was begging guests to take some home.
