Dancing With The Stars:  Live in Las Vegas Debuts at the Tropicana

For anyone who is a fan of the immensely popular TV series Dancing with the Stars, now in its 14th season, or just loves the expressive and beautiful art of dance, you are in for treat with Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas, a special, one of a kind production being presented at the New Tropicana Las Vegas for a limited 12 week engagement, beginning April 14. I attended the VIP preview performance on Friday night, April 13 prior to its official opening the following evening, and I can honestly say, I loved every minute of it.

The exciting, fast paced show directed by Amy Tinkham and choreographed by Australian sensation Jason Gilkison, features an amazing cast of some of the best professional dancers in the business including dance pros Lacey Schwimmer and Dmitry Chaplin and several celebrity alumni; Joey Fatone, Sabrina Bryan, Kyle Massey and Tia Carrere from the ABC hit show, performing spectacular, superbly choreographed, dance numbers. Audiences are also introduced to the one-and-only “Las Vegas Troupe” that include several exceptionally talented dancers that avid fans of TV's So You Think You Can Dance” will recognize from prior seasons.

Acting as host for the Las Vegas show is the always “fabulous”, highly amusing, TV personality and celeb stylist Carson Kressley, who also was a former contestant on DWTS. Along with lending his own brand of comedic flair to the production, Kressley showed off his skills as both a dancer and crowd pleaser in a few entertaining and fun filled dance routines with the pros that delighted the crowd.

The 80 minute live entertainment filled production showcases several favorite dances from prior seasons along with new and thrilling routines.  If you enjoyed watching the steamy hot Argentine tango, sexy paso doble, elegant waltz, energetic swing dance, and fancy fox trot on the TV show, wait to see them performed live and in person. Each and every dance number will take your breath away.

In addition to the live performances, there are video clips from the TV show including insightful as well as humorous comments from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Annaba.

I highly recommend Dancing With The Stars: Live in Las Vegas. The show features everything you expect from the TV series and more.  Put it on your must see list.

Celebrity arrivals seen walking the Red Carpet included TV's Dance With The Stars co-host Tom Bergeron,  dance pros from the TV series: Cheryl Burke, Kym Johnson, Anna Trebunskaya, Tony Dovolani, Lacey Schwimmer and Dmitri Chaplin along with the entire cast of the Las Vegas show, and Las Vegas headliners: prop comedian Carrot Top, female impersonator Frank Marino, Human Nature, the cast from Jersey Boys, and Miss Nevada 2011 Alana Lee.

Later, spotted among the guests at the fabulous After Party were "Night School for Girls" star Laura Croft, magician Murray SawChuck's comical sidekick and guest act 'Lefty' aka Douglas Leferovich, and extraordinarily talented dancers/fan favorites turned pros Twitch, Allison and Comfort from past seasons of TV's reality dance competition “So You Think You Can Dance” who were there in support of their friends/members of the cast.
