Headlining Magician Mac King Performs at Dr. Miriam & Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus

Comedy-Magician Mac King performed two special assemblies for the students at the Dr. Miriam & Sheldon G. Adelson Educational Campus on Tuesday, Oct 19. King dedicates his personal time to showcase magic and discuss the importance of reading at various Las Vegas schools throughout the year. King shared with the students that he “checked-out” a magic book at his elementary school library, which later carved the career for the comedy-magician, now in his eleventh year as a headliner at Harrah’s.

Ilan Hendler, a second-grade student, was selected to be the “Principal for the Day.” Part of his duties for his role was to help announce Mac King from the stage. During one of the special shows, King donated an autographed copy of his latest book “Mac King’s Campfire Magic” to the school’s library.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas hosts the second annual Madame Tussauds “After Dark"

This Halloween season, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is hosting the second annual Madame Tussauds “After Dark” starting October 22nd (continues 10/22-24 and 10/29-31).

Given a singe light to guide them, guests will experience the dark side of the world-famous attraction as they see, hear and feel the mysteries that surround Madame Tussauds Las Vegas over the years. It raises the question – is there life “After Dark”?

Guests will enjoy a frightening photo opportunity upon arrival and will then be welcomed into the haunted attraction by a menacing Madame Tussauds usher. During their journey, guests will discover the dark side of the world-famous attraction and enjoy further scares as they make their way through “Scream,” the attraction’s legendary horror maze.

Note: For six nights only, the renowned attraction will extend its operating hours for After Dark, which will run from 9pm – midnight. General admission is $20. A combo ticket for a regular Madame Tussauds visit and a return After Dark visit will be offered at $35.

Starting Wednesday, October 27, Rockhouse, located on Las Vegas Blvd. in front of Imperial Palace, will have an open bar every Wednesday from 9 p.m. until midnight for all college students – and even those that still wish they were. Co-eds with a college ID will enjoy all-they-can-drink, priced at just $5 for ladies and $10 for guys along with VIP bottle service starting at just $100. All wannabe students can still drink cheap with a $10 open bar for ladies and $20 for guys. And because Rockhouse promotes responsible drinking it will provide an hourly shuttle bus to and from Rockhouse every Tuesday and Wednesday night. The bus will pick up and return to Coffee Bean & Tea Lead located on Maryland Pkwy.

 

KOMP 92.3 is hosting a comedy benefit 9 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Legends Casino, 1966 N. Rainbow, to raise money for breast cancer research and awareness. KOMP 92.3’s popular radio personality Brandon “Gooch” Hahn, along with fellow comedians Skratch, Mike Shank and Mike Simpson will do what they do best and bring comedy to the masses. Admission is $5 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to American Cancer Society.

 

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Foundation, which will host the Fall Fun Fest at the CSN Charleston campus Oct. 29 through 31, has lined up a variety of genres for the fest’s concerts, ranging from punk to hip-hop. Headliners for Friday, Oct. 29 are Strung Out and The Vandals, with openers Death by Stereo and Happy Campers. Headliners for Saturday, Oct. 30 are BIG B and Unwritten Law, with openers Battle Born and The Fact Remains. Opening bands start at 6 p.m. Live music will continue until 10:30 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the concert.

 

Renowned impersonators Sebastian Anzaldo and Sharon Owens perform as Sinatra and Streisand in Frank & Barbra The Concert That Never Was at The Club at the Cannery Casino & Hotel on Saturday, October 30 at 8 p.m. Admission is only $10 at the door. for all ages.

 

In celebration of Halloween Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay will eerily transform into Haunted Reef on Saturday, October 30 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Costumed children 12 and under will receive complimentary admission and sugary sweets. Guests 17 years of age and older will also receive complimentary admission upon donating blood at the United Blood Services booth. The booth, set up just for Haunted Reef, will be open Saturday, October 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

Voters who show proof they voted will receive a complimentary medium lemonade on the big day from any of the five Raising Cane's locations in the valley. Proof can include a voting receipt or "I Voted" sticker. Offer is valid on Election Day only.

Legendary singer/icon Diana Ross is bringing her “MORE TODAY THAN YESTERDAY” tour to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for a two-night engagement Friday, November 12 and Saturday November 13. Showtime is 8pm. The legendary icon will perform her greatest hits in this spectacular live show, which features breathtaking costumes and stage designs, along with a live string and horn section. Ticket prices are $99.50/$79.50/$59.50/$49.50 (all prices include 10% Live Entertainment Tax).


The male a cappella group Straight No Chaser will perform for one night only at the Paris Théâtre on Sunday, November 7th at 8pm. The stop in Las Vegas is part of their highly successful tour that has been playing sold out dates across the country since September. Ticket prices are $30, $40, and $55 (plus applicable taxes and fees).

 

To celebrate and honor Frank Sinatra’s 95th birthday on December 12, Wynn Las Vegas will premiere performances of SINATRA Dance With Me in the Encore Theater on December 11, 2010. “We will present an extraordinary evening of Frank Sinatra—his words and music set to incredible movement by Twyla Tharp. This mesmerizing treatment of the man and his music moves with an intense, electrifying fascination,” said Steve Wynn.

SINATRA Dance With Me follows four couples as they fall in and out of love at a swinging nightclub. Blending the legendary vocals of Frank Sinatra with a big band and 14 of the world’s finest dancers, SINATRA Dance With Me weaves classic standards including “Fly Me To The Moon,” “My Way” and “That’s Life” in a soaring dance fantasy of romance and seduction.

By special arrangement with Frank Sinatra Enterprises and The Sinatra Family, SINATRA Dance With Me features original recorded masters of Frank Sinatra’s voice backed by a live on-stage, 17-piece big band. The show’s score combines classic vocal performances from the Sinatra catalog and archives along with signature Sinatra arrangements (Nelson Riddle, Billy May, Quincy Jones) and some brand new orchestrations for this innovative spectacle. Ticket prices are $69 and $89, plus tax and service charge. SINATRA Dance With Me plays at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday through January 29, 2011. The theater is dark on Sundays.

 

As part of the monthly First Friday design series at Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center, sought-after designer Lynda Murray will discuss the home she designed for movie director Michael Bay along with her other work during her presentation "Grand Vision: What To Do With A 17,000 Square-Foot House” on November 5 at 10 a.m.

 

The Nevada Gaming Commission met in Carson City on Thursday, October 21 and approved licensing for the $3.9 billion Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel Casino, which is scheduled to open on Dec. 15. Located on 8.5 acres on the Strip between Bellagio and CityCenter, The Cosmopolitan will have a 150,000-square-foot casino, more than a dozen signature restaurants, and three rooftop pool venues, including one managed by a nightclub operator. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for New Year's Eve weekend.

Olympian Shaun White celebrated winning the vert competition at the Dew Tour with an after party at LAVO. Despite losing the overall title due to an injury that caused him to miss the first event, he was in amazing spirits. The two time Olympic gold medalist arrived with 15 friends on a giant Red Bull tour bus and started the night with dinner at the Italian eatery After dinner, the rowdy crew hit the nightclub. Shaun stood atop a banquette to take in the scene as girls clamored to get close to the athlete.

Actor Hugh Grant was spotted at TAO Las Vegas with a group of ten friends.

NFL athlete for the New York Jets, Mark Sanchez dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort Friday night (10.22.10). Accompanied by two others, they enjoyed a family-style feast that included the signature rock shrimp, organic truffle chicken, Alaskan king crab legs, Maine lobster, NY sirloin and a side of potato gnocchi.

Following dinner, Sanchez and ten friends were seen partying at a VIP table inside Moon Nightclub where they enjoyed mixed drinks and had a great time on the dance floor.

Over at Rain Nightclub, hip-hop artist T-Pain (real name Faheem Rasheed Najm) enjoyed the scene from the VIP table on stage with a group of thirty. T-Pain had the crowd going when he got behind the mic for a performance.

miX Lounge inside THEhotel welcomed the cast members from Disney’s THE LION KING at Mandalay Bay as they hosted a night to remember celebrating the launch of new Friday performances. The 7:30 p.m. Friday night show will be ongoing as THE LION KING continues to perform six nights a week in the Mandalay Bay Theatre. The show is now dark on Monday.

Following their successful first Friday performance, cast members Kissy Simmons (“Nala”), Derrick Williams (“Mufasa”), Thom Sesma (“Scar”), Buyi Zama (“Rafiki”) and Jenali Remy (“Simba”) hit the carpet.

Inside miX Lounge, the cast members celebrated THE LION KING’s one-year anniversary at Mandalay Bay, by raising their glasses and toasting the show’s success and the excitement of new Friday night performances.

Saturday night, October 23…

Christina Aguilera was spotted at TAO Las Vegas after performing at Justin Timberlake’s concert benefitting Shriners Hospitals for Children. The newly single platinum blonde danced with her friends and waved to the crowd from her skybox when DJ Vice shouted out "the sexiest lady in the world is in the house".

Also in town for the Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert, Sean “Diddy” Combs hosted his after-party at PURE Nightclub inside of Caesar’s Palace.

Following his arrival on the red carpet, Diddy was escorted through the packed house to his VIP table on PURE’s iconic state. Known for throwing the best parties in the world, the Grammy Award-winning artist promised to show guests a good time. While on stage, and with mic in hand, he was dancing and rapping along to his smash hits including “Bad Boy For Life,” “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down,” and “It’s All About The Benjamins.”

Earlier in the day, Giancola had an exclusive cooking lesson from Chef Geno inside Nove Italiano’s kitchen and prepared Nove’s signature meatballs. Following her dinner at Nove, Giancola headed to Playboy Club where she was presented with the prestige Playboy Club key.
