RHUMBAR, the stylish cocktail lounge at The Mirage, partnered with Opportunity Village to host Art Under The Stars, a fundraising event, on September 29. Guests sipped cocktails and enjoyed a variety of art exhibits on display by student artists from Opportunity Village's arts enrichment program. In addition to a silent auction, each piece of artwork on display was available for purchase, raising a total of $3,000 for the organization.

Disney's award winning musical 'The Lion King' set a new record for most tickets sold and monies raised for Nevada Public Radio through an entertainment partnership.Proceeds totaled $61,000 for the 1,000 tickets sold for the September 29 performance breaking KNPR’s previous records for ticket sales (500 tickets) and monies raised ($54,600) for a one night event, previously held by Jersey Boys and Elton John.


A group of Vegas headliners assembled early Wednesday morning, October 6 at Hooters Casino Hotel. A special performance of the critically acclaimed 'Dirty Joke Show' featuring Geechy Guy, Mickey Joseph and Todd Paul was put on at 12:01 a.m. for David Copperfield, Carrot Top, Amazing Jonathan and Nathan Burton. During the show there were also guest appearances by Rob Sherwood and Mat Black.

The evening started off with the guests being greeted by Valerie, a Hooters Girl who was selected for the 2011 Hooters Calendars.  Valerie posed for photos with the guests and signed copies of the new calendar for the headliners who attended.  Valerie is happy to represent Hooters Casino Hotel in the 25th Anniversary Edition of the Hooters Calendar.

After the side splitting performance, all of the headliners and Valerie got up on stage and took photos to mark this magical evening. Afterwards, there was an after party that went on until well after 3:00 a.m.

Legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow’s non-profit organization, the Manilow Music Project, put more than $500,000 worth of musical instruments into the hands of 15 Clark County School District middle schools and high schools during a ceremony on Thursday, October 7 at Valley High School in Clark County, Nevada. This is the single largest donation of its kind in Clark County history for a music program and reinvigorates the school system’s music program at a critical time of need.

“The happiest mayor in the world,” Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, was also on hand, as the five semi-trucks left directly from the event to drop the brand new instruments at schools across Clark County.

Manilow is currently performing more than 78 shows a year for two years at the Paris Théâtre at Paris Las Vegas.

'Wicked', the smash hit musical, will kick off The Smith Center for the Performing Arts’ 2012-2013 Broadway-subscription series with a limited six-week engagement.  After breaking box office records and selling out across the country, 'Wicked' has added The Smith Center to its 2012-2013 tour, with performances scheduled for August 29 – October 7, 2012. The on-sale date will be announced at a later date.

The Cannery and Lotus Broadcasting partner to host two of Las Vegas’ top haunts, 'The Asylum' and 'Hotel Fear', combined into one abysmally haunted terror – 'Chaos at The Cannery' a haunted attraction by Las Vegas Haunts, for a month of ear-shattering screams. The haunted houses will be open now through October 31, with frights from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and from 6:30 p.m. to midnight (12 a.m.) on Fridays and Saturdays. Freak nights for specials showings starting at 6:30 p.m., include Wednesday, Oct. 27 until 10 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 28 until midnight and Sunday, Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $12 for a single haunt or $18 for a Chaos Pass combo. There will be a special “lights on” tour for the little ones under 10 years old on Halloween, Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for only a $2 donation with all proceeds benefitting the Ronald McDonald House.

On October 15th the Crazy Girls Passion Pit will make its debut in the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Gorgeous dancers will perform three nights a week, in an intimate stage setting complete with lighting and sound, while guests try their hand at live three card poker and blackjack table games.

Dancers from the world-famous Crazy Girls, produced by Norbert Aleman, will make special guest appearances from time to time. All dancers in the Crazy Girls Passion Pit will be broadcast via flat screen televisions throughout the casino.

Silverton Casino & Hotel welcomes world-class professional boxing at the “Battle in the Backyard,” on Saturday, Oct. 16 in the Vail Pavilion. Participating in the non-stop action will be Las Vegas’ own Crystal Hoy and Daniel Reece, along with three heavyweight bouts. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event kicks off at 7 p.m. Tickets for “Battle in the Backyard,” presented by Roy Englebrecht Promotions, in association with Silverton Casino & Lodge prices are $35 and $55

The UNLV Choral Ensembles open their 2010-2011 concert season with "Frostiana" on Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lee & Thomas Beam Music Center’s Rando Recital Hall, located on the northeast end of the university campus. The concert features American composer Randall Thompson’s “Frostiana,” a suite of seven choruses set to some of Robert Frost’s most famous poems. Performing ensembles include the University Concert Singers, Chamber Chorale and Varsity Men directed by David Weiller and the Women's Chorus directed by Jocelyn Jensen.

Tickets for “Frostiana” may be purchased at the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office or by calling 895-ARTS. General admission is $10; senior citizens, military and UNLV faculty/staff tickets are $8. All students from the university and the Clark County School District receive one free ticket. Seating is limited and advance purchase of tickets is recommended.

Supernatural Entertainment featuring Suchard will perform inside the Palm Casino Resort's intimate venue, The Lounge, each Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. for a five week residency beginning Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010. Tickets are $43 and $63. This is a return to Las Vegas for Suchard who previously performed to astonished crowds as the opening act for the legendary Joan Rivers. Tickets for Supernatural Entertainment are $43 and $63 (inclusive of taxes and fees).

October 31 was the last performance of the Riviera Comedy Club. A new and exciting show will be coming soon to the showroom. Barbra & Frank, The Concert That Never Was is no longer at the Riviera.

Friday night, October 2,

Ashley Tisdale and her Hellcats cast mates celebrated the success of their hit new show on The CW with a non-stop party weekend in Vegas spent at MGM Grand hotspots Wet Republic and Tabú Ultra Lounge. Joining Tisdale was her band of television cheerleaders including Heather Hemmens, Robbie Jones, Matt Barr and Sharon Leal and friends including sister Jennifer Tisdale. The actors made kicked off the Sin City weekend at legendary nightclub Studio 54, which Jones declared “fantastic!”


Saturday morning,

The crew headed to WET REPUBLIC and enjoyed a private bungalow near fellow popstar Avril Lavigne. When rain showered on the pool, Barr soaked it in and declared, “It [the rain] was fantastic; everyone was out there dancing and it was one of those moments you’ll tell your kids about. We got wet at WET REPUBLIC!” Later that evening, the stars dined at CRAFTSTEAK before heading to Tabú Ultra Lounge to dance the night away.

Arriving at Tabú Tisdale was immediately surprised with a belated birthday cake while DJ MattyMatt led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday!” The starlet quickly blew out her candles and continued partying with Hemmens, Jones and Leal in the exclusive Tantra Room, where they were also joined by new friend Lavigne.

Sunday, October 3...

The Hellcats continued the party at Wet Republic.

The crew then settled back into their bungalow to enjoy the sounds of DJs Sharam, Tony Arzadon, Robbie Rivera and Willie Morales who were closing out the 2010 season of Daylife Sundays - Vegas’ hottest industry party for the best DJs.The sun was blaring as the sexy cheerleaders continued the party into evening.

Earlier in the day Glee’s Mark Salling wrapped up his weekend celebration of his new album at TAO Beach.

Actor and comedian Robert Corddry, best known for his role in “Hot Tub Time Machine,” dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort with five friends.

Peepshow star Holly Madison came had lunch with a friend at Society Café Encore.

Dining at another table was the King of Crunk, Lil Jon. The artist is in town to DJ at Blush Boutique Nightclub on Tuesday and at Surrender Nightclub on Wednesday evening.

Monday, October 4...

NFL linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, Joey Porter dined at N9NE Steakhouse inside Palms Casino Resort.
National Baseball Hall of Famer, Roland “Rollie” Fingers also dined with six friends at N9NE Steakhouse.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger enjoyed a New York strip steak for lunch inside Strip House at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.  Normally only open for dinner, the steak house made an exception for Schwarzenegger after he contacted the resort and specifically requested to dine at Strip House.

Tuesday night, October 5...

LAVO hosted the official prom after-party with Tone Loc taking club goers back to the 90’s.  Around 1:15 am the rapper surprised the crowd with an impromptu performance of his hits “Wild Thing” and Funky Cold Medina.”  When not entertaining the crowd he took over a VIP table and even ventured onto the dance floor.

Earlier in the night Tone Loc dined at LAVO with friends.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Brian Vickers was spotted at LAVO.  He arrived around midnight with friends.  They took in the Label Junkie fashion show hosted by Sex Kitten and stayed until after 2:30 am listening to the sounds of DJ Five.

At Surrender, The Kink of Krunk Lil Jon was spotted with an entourage of 20 people. group Also at the hotspot was Holly’s World star Laura Croft, and Bachelor Pad stars Jesse Kovacs and Kiptyn Locke.

Friday night...

October 8 singer Rob Thomas was spotted having dinner at Society Café Encore. The Matchbox Twenty front man sat in the back of the restaurant with his wife Marisol and four friends.

Record producer, rapper and songwriter, Jermaine Dupri was at Rain Nightclub at Palms Casino Resort. He came in at 1:15 a.m. with a group of five people and partied on the stage.

Saturday night October 9...

Film star and actress of HBO’s TV series, Entourage, Sasha Grey accompanied by a party of five, dined at Nove Italiano inside Palms Casino Resort. They sat at a table on the terrace and enjoyed the beautiful Strip view.  Following her meal, Grey partied upstairs at Playboy Club where she was the special celebrity host and surprised the crowd with a unique 15-minute set on the turntables.  She was also presented with the prestige Playboy Club key.

Upstairs at Moon Nightclub, alternative hip-hop artist, Travie McCoy performed two songs from his debut solo album, Lazarus including, “We’ll Be Alright” and his hit “Billionaire.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White also partied at Moon Nightclub.
