Fremont Street Experience had added an all-new show, “The Doors—Strange Days in Vegas,” featuring legendary hits “Break On Through (To The Other Side),” “Roadhouse Blues” and “People Are Strange and a symbolic and colorful montage of the greatness of Jim Morrison and The Doors, to its evening lineup of light-and-sound spectacles displayed nightly on the Viva Vision screen. Much of the live footage was provided by The Doors and comes from a rare performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1968. The free Viva Vision shows are presented 8 p.m. through midnight on weekdays and 8 p.m.–1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The current lineup has “The Doors—Strange Days in Vegas” on at 9 p.m.

Matsuri at the Imperial Palace is offering local residents who show a valid Nevada I.D. special priced tickets of $15 per person now through May 26th.

From May 6–9, Sunset Station will host The 12th Annual Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival, which for the first time, will be open to the general public. The lineup for the biggest punk rock party of the year includes bands Flogging Molly, NOFX, D.R.I, Against Me!, Hot Water Music, F**ked Up, TSOL, Swinging Utters, The Revival Tour featuring Chuck Ragan/Ben Nichols, Youth Brigade, The Dickies, 7 Seconds, Cobra Skulls, Teenage Bottlerocket and many more.

The event features an all-ages outdoor amphitheatre and a 21-plus indoor lounge for late night shows. This year 850 bowlers are expected to be among 210 participating teams that are made up of industry insiders (bands, agents, managers, fanzines, radio stations, labels, punk rock clothing and merchandise companies). Punk Rock Bowling is one of the largest and most recognized indie music events of the year.

Weekend passes for Amphitheatre shows are $80 each and weekend passes for Club Madrid shows are $40 each.

The Liberace Foundation & Museum is commemorating the birthday of celebrated entertainer and pianist Liberace, with a variety of concerts, autograph signings and a birthday cake Sunday, May 9 – Sunday, May 16. Tropicana Las Vegas announced that on May 17th it will unveil the first of its newly designed hotel rooms and luxury suites in the property’s 569- room Paradise Tower. The new rooms are part of the $165 million transformation of the property, designed to capture the sultry South Beach vibe that will be at the heart of the new Tropicana Las Vegas.

Henry’s Place, a non-profit organization formed in 2006 to honor Metro Sgt. Henry Prendes who gave his life protecting his hometown community, will host the 4th Annual Henry Prendes Charity Golf Classic at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Black Mountain Golf & Country Club in Henderson. Proceeds from this year’s event will be allocated for building cabins at the new camp facility and also lend support to send underprivileged children to camp. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Injured Police Officers’ Fund (IPOF) on behalf of the 2009 LVMPD Fallen Officers and their families. Ceramics artist Eva Gordon will appear at Giardini Home within Bellagio Saturday, May 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ms. Gordon will be available to discuss her delicate creations, each carefully hand-sculpted and hand-painted using lead-free materials. Ms. Gordon also will be available to sign pieces purchased during this special event.

After a brief hiatus Venetian headliner Wayne Brady returns with new performances of his improvisational hit show Making It Up beginning Memorial Day Weekend. Making It Up can be seen over select performance dates, including May 27 – 31, June 17 – 21, 24 – 28 and July 1 – 5. All shows begin at 9:00 p.m. in The Venetian Showroom. Star Wars™: In Concert, the unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams’ epic Star Wars scores, will play two performances on May 29 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m inside the New Orleans Arena. The production features a full symphony orchestra and choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, HD LED super-screen – one of the largest ever put on tour. Wednesday, April 28, a mini-troop of Spermato characters from Mystère, Cirque du Soliel’s classic show at Treasure Island , visited Gilley’s Saloon, Dance Hall and Bar-B-Que inside the Hotel Casino with their zany antics. The Spermato leader, adorned with a huge cowboy hat and Mystère belt buckle, led his troop to see everything Gilley’s has to offer first-hand, from dancing with the World Famous Gilley’s Girls to finding out exactly how many people can fit on the mechanical bull. We never did discover how many Mystere characters would fit on the bull -- one of the Gilley's Girls stopped by and the lead Spermato wanted her all to himself.

Thursday night, April 29,...

Hometown favorites The Killers were spotted at TAO nightclub taking in the sounds of DJ Five. The NFL was well represented with Fred Taylor of the Patriots, free agent Jevon Kerase and Roscoe Parrish and Marcus Stroud of the Buffalo Bills, who were spotted hanging with the cast of VH1’s Real Chance of Love. Washington Redskins Larry Johnson and Clinton Portis and Brandon Marshall of the Miami Dolphins were also spotted in the crowd.

Super model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Selita Ebanks, who is in town to host at LAVO on Friday and attend Saturday’s season grand opening of TAO Beach, dined at TAO before heading up to a VIP table in the nightclub.

Grammy Award-winning songwriter and rapper, Timbaland attended Disney’s THE LION KING at Mandalay Bay with his wife Monique and 25 of their closest friends. The event was part of a Vegas celebration for Monique’s birthday. Following the show, Timbaland and his wife headed back stage to meet the cast, who surprised Monique with their very own rendition of ‘Happy Birthday,’ LION KING style, as well as flowers and an autographed poster from the Vegas production. The couple enjoyed posing for photos with the production’s principal cast members Derrick Williams (Mufasa), Kissy Simmons (Nala) and Buyi Zama (Rafiki).

Friday night, April 30...

Hollywood socialite sisters Paris and Nicky Hilton were spotted dining at Eva Longoria Parker's Beso restaurant in Crystals at CityCenter.

Director and choreographer Kenny Ortega, known for working with Cher, Michael Jackson and the "High School Musical" series, was seen celebrating the Vegas edition of his 60th birthday (born April 18) as a guest of good friends Robin Antin and Matt Goss. As part of the festivities Ortega joined Goss onstage to sing "St. James Park".

The entire row of VIP tables lining the DJ booth was packed with celebrities and sports stars. Spotted dancing the night away were Michael Strahan and fiancé Nicole Murphy, and Reggie Bush.

Paris and Nicky Hilton, along with David Katzenberg arrived after 1 am and stayed until nearly last call. Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy popped by the table to say and hello.

Tichina Arnold, who played Pam on TV’s Martin was spotted in the club, as was Chazz Palminteri.

Sports stars at LAVO included Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bull Joakim Noah, Bobby McCray of the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49er Patrick Willis, and retired NBA player Jalen Rose.

Running back Knowshon Moreno and quarterback Brady Quinn of the Denver Broncos were spotted over at TAO.

After adding another impressive win to his undefeated record, Floyd Mayweather celebrated Saturday night at MGM Grand's Studio 54 . Arriving to his official after-fight party with an entourage 30 deep, the boxing champ mingled and celebrated with fans as he made his way into the iconic nightclub. Mayweather took a moment to 'two-step' on his way to the exclusive VIP lounge. Resident DJ Skribble shouted, "This is for you Floyd!" and played DJ Khaled's "All I Do is Win" while the electric crowd toasted the legend. Close by, welterweight champion, Zab Judah offered congratulatory words to the undefeated heavyweight champ.

Saturday’s season grand opening of TAO Beach presented by SWAGG saw a number of celebs and sports starts soaking in the sun and the sounds of DJ Vice. Jamie Foxx was spotted along with other notables including Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy, Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks, Reggie Bush, Larry Johnson and Dwight Freeny. Chazz Palminteri stopped by for a second day in a row.

The party continued on at TAO Saturday night, with Sean “Diddy” Combs, Nelly, TI, Busta Rhymes, Jeezy, Too Short, Tyson Beckford and Swizz Beatz dining at the Asian Bistro after the fight.

Sunday afternoon, May 2, Leonardo DiCaprio and Vin Diesel were spotted at Dos Caminos inside The Palazzo having a leisurely brunch. The actors were joined by two male friends.
