Las Vegas International Model Search Crowns Winner at MGM Grand

The finals of the  2015 International Model Search,  one of the largest CASH model search events in the world, was held at Hakkasan inside the  MGM Grand on Saturday, June 27, 2015.  Fifty models from 25 countries gathered in Las Vegas to compete  in sexy swimsuit and evening gown categories for the chance to win cash and other prizes.  Celebrity judges included Zowie Bowie’s Chris Phillips; former  President of MGM TV Hank Cohen; Guess Jean Cover girl /actress Sandra Taylor; Austin “Chumlee” Russell of the History Channel's “Pawn Stars” , JD Scott – TV Personality, 3rd Brother on Property Brothers TV Show; Mehcan Brooks (Jimmy Olson in the upcoming new CBS Series Super Girl),  Undefeated Light Heavyweight Boxer (19-0) Trevor McCumby;  Ron Rice – Founder Of Hawaiian Tropic Suntan Oil; Torrie Wilson – Actress / Model / First Super Star Female Wrestler; Jeff Franklin – Executive Producer / Creator of Full House & the new Fuller House; and head judge, TV personality/ entertainment journalist Robin Leach.

During their week in Las Vegas, the contestants took part in several events including hosting a meet-and-greet with hundreds of fans at The D Las Vegas on Fremont Street, taking photos with reality TV star Horny Mike from the History Channel’s hit “Counting Cars” who was celebrating his birthday, and posing in front of The D’s Longbar, the longest bar in the state.

The night before the pageant, the gorgeous models attended a sponsors party at Ling Ling Club in Hakkasan, and were the center of attention in their stunning BLACK & Gold (MGM Colors) VENUS Swimsuits & Glamboutique gold jewelry, at the Wet Republic pool party in their honor. Before the final competition, a large crowd gathered to cheer the models on at a Red Carpet parade.

In the end, Savannah Lynx, representing New Jersey (a former Miss TEEN New Jersey USA) was chosen as the winner and was awarded a cash prize of $25,000. Rounding out the top five were runner up Jade Kelsall representing Nevada (a former Miss Nevada USA) ($10,000);   Susanna Canzian in 3rd place representing Italy ($5000);  4th Place was  Angelina Layton, 2014 Miss Utah USA ($3000);  and in 5th Place was Michelle McKay, representing Ontario, Canada ($2000).

In other categories, the VENUS SWIMWEAR WINNER /best in swimsuit was Angelia Layton who received a Modeling Contract, and LUCY MILLER  was the Winner of the Beautiful Heart Smile Award – Great Barrier Reef Australia, who walked away with $1000.

All contestants also won thousands of dollars worth of Venus Swim and Fashionwear / Glamboutique Jewelry / Photoshoot professional portfolio / and various other products for a total prize package of over $100,000.00

Canadian rockers THEORY OF A DEADMAN will perform a FREE CONCERT during Fremont Street Experience’s Rock of Vegas summer concert series on Saturday, July 18 at 9 p.m. at the 1st Street Stage. Throughout the summer, Fremont Street Experience will provide the ultimate nirvana for rock music fans with an exciting lineup of performances that include Spin Doctors and Cherry Poppin’ Daddies on Aug. 1.  All concerts start at 9 p.m.

GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING is heading to Las Vegas for its inaugural event and TV taping called “AMPED” on July 24 at the Orleans Arena. “Amped” begins at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $30, plus tax and fees. Fight card is subject to change.
 
“Amped will be the show that unites promotions and showcases the very best men and women professional wrestlers on the planet,” said GFW founder and CEO Jeff Jarrett.
 
GFW is also excited to announce four unique divisions: GFW Global Championship, GFW Tag Team Championship, GFW Women's Championship and GFW NEX*GEN Championship.  These titles will be up for grabs in four separate tournaments that kick off on July 24 at the Orleans Arena.
 
“NEX*GEN is about the up-and-comers, the fearless new faces in this industry from around the globe,” said Jarrett. “You will be talking about these guys for years to come.”
 
The Global Championship tournament will feature former TNA wrestling champion Bobby Roode competing for the first-ever Global Force Wrestling champion title taking on an as-of-yet unannounced partner in the first round. Additional fights on the card include Brian Myers (formerly Curt Hawkins) vs. Chris Mortedzky (formerly Chris Masters), Kongo Kong vs. Nick Aldis (formerly Magnus) for the Global Championship Tournament; Chris Sabin and Kushida vs. Reno SCUM for the Tag Team Championship Tournament; PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel) vs. Seiya Sanada and Jigsaw vs. Sonjay Dutt for the NEX*GEN Championship Tournament; Christina Von Eerie vs. Mickie James vs. Lei’D Tapa and Bestia 666, Blood Eagle & Steve Pain vs. Phoenix Star, Zokre & Misterioso Jr. for the Women’s Championship Tournament.


Future Global Force Wrestling “Amped” tapings will take place on Aug. 21 and Oct. 23 at the Orleans Arena.

The ONYX THEATRE opens its Tenth Anniversary Season with the popular Broadway hit HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. The Tony Award-winning rock musical is written by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask, and directed by Troy Heard.Performances of Hedwig and the Angry Inch will be August 6 through 29, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm. with a Sunday matinee on August 16 at 5 pm. Epicurean Charitable Foundation of Las Vegas (ECF) will host the 2nd ANNUAL STRIKES FOR SCHOLARSHIPS BOWLING TOURNAMENT FUNDRAISER from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15, at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa.
Proceeds from the bowling tournament will support ECF’s primary charitable endeavor of awarding annual scholarship awards to deserving high school students seeking careers in the hospitality and food and beverage industries.

“Last year we raised more than $4,000 that directly benefited our new scholarship recipients.” Michael Kennedy, ECF chairman and director of food operations for South Point.

Registration is priced at $35 for individuals and $125 for teams of five. Participants may sign up to bowl individually, as a team or bid to play with one of the notable participating celebrities. Celebrity Magician Murray Sawchuck and his wife Chloe present a special charity show “BEGGIN FOR MAGIC III” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Sunday, August 16. A red carpet begins at 3 p.m. Show starts at 4 pm.  The event will feature performances by Murray, Chloe and a variety of other guest acts, plus raffles and prizes, with ALL profits going to Friends for Life Humane Society, a NO KILL animal shelter in Las Vegas.  Tickets are on sale at the box office (all standard ticket prices apply).

Grammy Award-winning blues singer and guitarist JONNY LANG is returning to Las Vegas for a performance at The Railhead inside Boulder Station on Friday, August 21 at 8 p.m.  Doors open at 7 p.m. and guests under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $30, $40, $50 and $60 plus tax and applicable fees.

PETER FRAMPTON, one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history, co-headlines with American rock legends CHEAP TRICK at The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Saturday, August 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $49.50 (plus applicable service fees).

Yasiel Puig was spotted at Marquee Monday.   The right fielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers was joined by friends as they took in the sounds of DJ Khaled. The TAO resident made his debut at Marquee Nightclub to a packed crowd, as he spun a mashup of Hip Hop and Top 40 hits.

Sunday night, July 12...

Retired MLB pitcher Roger Clemens and his wife were spotted dining at LAVO.

Also spotted at LAVO Sunday was Houston Rockets' point guard Patrick Beverley, joined by a large group of friends and family.

Alan Thicke, actor and father of R&B singer Robin Thicke, was also spotted having coffee at LAVO with a lady friend.

Professional football player Rob Gronkowski made a surprise appearance at Las Vegas’ original dayclub, REHAB, at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
 
The afternoon of debauchery kicked off when Pauly D got behind the booth for his DJ set around 3:30 p.m.  Shortly after, Gronkowski arrived at the dayclub with his brother before heading over to his VIP bungalow.

Other notable guests at the dayclub included Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and VH1’s “Dating Naked” star Michael Pericoloso.
 
Saturday afternoon, July 11...

Academy Award-nominated actor John Malkovich was spotted dining at LAVO Brunch accompanied by a lady friend.

In the evening...

Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose, joined by family and friends, was spotted dining at LAVO, before heading to TAO.
 Wilmer Valderrama was spotted dining with former “That '70s Show” cast member and “Orange is the New Black” star Laura Prepon at TAO Asian Bistro. The two stars were joined by a group of friends, before heading upstairs to the nightclub.

Also spotted at TAO Asian Bistro was actor Kellan Lutz. The model and star of The Twilight Saga film series dined family style with a group of friends, before joining his friend Wilmer Valderrama at the nightclub.

Rashad Evans was spotted at TAO. The UFC fighter joined a VIP table of other MMA fighters including James Kimball, Anthony Pettis, Kevin Luke “Cub” Swanson, Cain Velasquez, Luke Rockhold and Shawn “The Savage” Jordan, as they enjoyed  the sounds of Eric Dlux.

Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil stopped by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Friday Night Live at the Pool to see Nelson perform on The JBL Sound Stage.

Pierre Garçon was spotted at TAO.  The wide receiver for the Washington Redskins was joined by a group of friends to take in the sounds of Justin Credible.

Grammy-nominated R&B artist Keith Washington attended Sherry Gordy Presents Take the Stage – An Open Mic Experience last night at Fiesta Rancho. Also in attendance was musician Daryl “Funky Z” Fields, bass player for Human Nature, who took the stage for an impromptu performance.
