Second Annual “Headliner's Bash” at The Quad Resort & Casino Raises More than $40,000 for Charity

Win-Win Entertainment, a local nonprofit organization that pairs performers with charity events, celebrated its second annual fundraiser show, “Headliners Bash,” presented by the John C. Kish Foundation at The Quad Resort & Casino on Friday, Nov. 22.  The event was hosed by entertainers Clint Holmes and his wife Kelly Clinton and featured performances by Taylor Hicks and Jersey Boys from Paris Las Vegas, Mac King and Million Dollar Quartet from Harrah’s Las Vegas, Frankie Moreno from Stratosphere, Human Nature at The Venetian, the Kristef Brothers from “America’s Got Talent,” Frank Marino’s Divas and Recycled Percussion from The Quad, Bally’s Las Vegas headliner Véronic DiCaire and Win-Win’s founder, The Quad headliner Jeff Civillico.

With more than 500 supporters in attendance, the “Headliners Bash” raised more than $40,000 from ticket sales and silent auction items, including a private cabin on the Las Vegas High Roller, a guitar signed by multiple rock stars and one lucky winner won “the mother of all ticket giveaways” - two tickets to Elton John, Rod Stewart, Shania Twain and Celine Dion at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The monies raised will help Win-Win’s fundamental work within the Las Vegas nonprofit community and fund other nonprofits with their fundraising events through 2014.
 
Founded by Civillico in July 2011, Win-Win Entertainment has arranged 25 events for nonprofits, including Spread the Word Nevada, Natural History Museum, Lili Claire Foundation, the Shade Tree and Grant a Gift Autism Foundation

TREVI INSIDE THE FORUM SHOPS AT CAESARS is offering a complimentary gelato dessert for each toy donated for the MARINE TOYS FOR TOTS FOUNDATION at TREVI from Sunday, Dec. 1, through Tuesday, Dec. 10. Generous donors who bring a new, unwrapped toy to the drop-off site inside TREVI will receive a free scoop of Pastry Chef Hank Sbraccia’s housemade signature gelato. The offer is valid for one dessert per-customer, per-donation.  Established in 1991, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation annually collects toy donations from across the country to distribute as Christmas gifts to children in need within local communities.

The Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV presents the treasured holiday classic Charles Dickens’ “A CHRISTMAS CAROL” Dec. 5-15 in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Show times are at 8 p.m. on 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 & 14 with matinees at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7, 8, 14, and 15, in the Judy Bayley Theatre. Tickets are $20-30, and 10 percent off for children 18.

BUDDY “CAKE BOSS” VALASTRO of the hit TLC series “Cake Boss” will be signing copies of his newest book Family Celebrations with the Cake Boss from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 in the lounge area at Buddy V’s Ristorante located on the second floor of the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian|Palazzo.  Books must be purchased at Buddy V’s Ristorante at the retail price of $30 to be included in the signing.

Sunset Park, which recently went through a two-year $11.7 million dollar renovation, will host the SUNSET WONDERLAND HOLIDAY FESTIVAL featuring an ice skating rink, holiday activities for all ages, horse & buggy hay rides around the lake, crafts, holiday performances from local youth groups, a Ferris wheel, a photo opportunity with Santa and so much more! The events begin on Friday, Dec. 6 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2601 E Sunset Road. Sunset Wonderland is open from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is FREE and all ages invited to attend.

The new EAST SIDE REVOLUTION entertainment schedule will take place every Friday and Saturday beginning December 6 inside Sunset Station featuring Nashville Unplugged, country star Sam Riddle, “American Idol’s” Josh Royse, Impulse, Peter Love and Ryan Whyte Maloney.

To commemorate his one year anniversary performing HYPNOSIS UNLEASHED inside the Night Owl Showroom at Hooters Casino Hotel, KEVINE LEPINE is offering locals half-price tickets to the show through December 30, 2013.

Beginning Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 and running through Friday Jan. 24, 2014, THE COLLEGE OF SOUTHERN NEAVADA FINE ARTS GALLERY will present its ANNUAL JURIED STUDENT EXHIBITION featuring guest judge Denise R. Duarte. a native Nevadan who is currently the Public Art Cultural Specialist for the newly created Clark County Percent for Public Art Fund  A reception with refreshments, awards ceremony, gallery talk, and Salon de Refusés will take place on Friday, Dec. 13, from 6 - 8 p.m.  This exhibition will feature student artwork made in connection with CSN Fine Arts Department, Art and Art History courses with media including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry and design.

The city of Henderson hosts its annual WINTERFEST CELEBRATION Thursday, December 12-Saturday, December 14 at the Henderson Events Plaza, 200 Water St., in the Water Street District. The event, which transforms the city’s historic district into an old-fashioned Christmas celebration, makes a splash this year with a larger-than-life, one-of-a-kind holiday fish tank built by Wayde King and Brett Raymer of Animal Planet’s hit show, Tanked.The customized fish tank will be on public display inside the Henderson Convention Center, 200 Water St., during WinterFest. Residents and Tanked fans may also watch the all-new holiday episode at 10 p.m. Thursday, December 12 on Discovery and 9 p.m. on Friday, December 20 on Animal Planet.

 In addition to the Tanked aquarium, WinterFest features holiday festivities for the entire family, including a performance by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, official Christmas tree lighting with the mayor, horse-drawn carriage rides, gingerbread house displays and children’s activities. An evening light parade brightens the holidays at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, and features dozens of entries decked out in lights. Admission to WinterFest is FREE.

The LAS VEGAS IMPROVISATIONAL PLAYERS spread their unique brand of holiday cheer and laughter with an all new comedy and musical improv show on Saturday, December 14 at 7:00pm. The “clean-burning” improvised comedy show will be held at the American Heritage Academy, located at 6126 South Sandhill Road in Las Vegas. Tickets are only $10 and available for purchase at the door which opens at 6:40 p.m.

The 28th annual “MERRY CHRISTMAS LAS VEGAS” fundraiser will take place in the Railhead at Boulder Station on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. and will be taped for television in front of a live audience. The holiday-themed show will be hosted by the show’s creator Las Vegas entertainer/TV host - Tony Sacca, and will feature a stellar lineup of Las Vegas’ finest entertainers. The performance is open to the public for a $25 donation per person to benefit The Youth Foundation For The Performing Arts and can be purchased by calling 702-364-8669 or paying at the door, which opens at 1 p.m.

The jolliest man of the north visits TITANIC: THE ARTIFACT EXHIBITION at Luxor Hotel and Casino on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 1-3 p.m. SANTA will greet guests and pose for photos on the opulent Grand Staircase. With over 300 artifacts on display, boys and girls can relive the magic of the “Ship of Dreams” and share their wish list with old St. Nicholas on one of the most memorable settings from Titanic. High-quality images will be available for purchase inside the Exhibition. Guests also will have the opportunity to fill stockings with the only authentic artifact available for sale inside the gift shop; a commemorative piece of coal that was part of the 5,982 tons loaded on board R.M.S. Titanic.

Jersey Boys star and recording artist, TRAVIS CLOER, brings his versatile voice and brand new Christmas show “MY PLACE FOR THE HOLIDAYS” to The Smith Center for the Performing Arts for one night only on Monday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices start at $25 and can be purchased at The Smith Center Box Office, located at 361 Symphony Park Ave.

Renowned rapper Drake hosted his official concert after party at Body English Nightclub & Afterhours inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The revelry kicked off as DJ Franzen and Future The Prince spun the recording artist’s biggest hits. Singers Miguel and Jhené Aiko, rappers Future and Yo Gotti, and ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars” actress Shay Mitchell were spotted partying alongside Drake into the early morning hours.

Mark Kelly, a retired American astronaut and U.S. Navy Captain, dined with a friend at La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway inside Wynn Las Vegas. Jenna Morton, owner of La Cave Wine and Food Hideaway, joined the two for brunch as well.

At night, world renowned turntable master Steve Aoki took over Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand for an early 36th birthday celebration with about 6,000 of his closest friends.

Nearing the end of his set, Aoki welcomed a special guest for an impromptu performance. One half of the Dutch Eurodance duo 2 Unlimited, Ray Slijngaard, hopped atop the DJ booth and performed for thousands of partygoers.
