Ethel M Chocolate's Annual Holiday Cactus Lighting

Ethel M Chocolates 19th Annual Holiday Cactus Lighting went off without a hitch on Tuesday night, November 13. Local Las Vegas entertainers comedian, George Wallace, singers Zowie Bowie and Michael Grimm entertained throngs of people that gathered at at Ethel M's Henderson factory for the traditional holiday event. Choirs from Schofield Elementary and Coronado High school added to the merriment, serenading guests as they took in factory tours, visited the balloon artists and face painters and stood in line for photos with Santa.

At approximately 6pm, the entertainers led the crowd in a 5-4-3-2-1 countdown as Ethel M flipped the switch on more than a half million lights. The 3-acre Cactus Garden sparkled with LED lights, inflatables and lights that appear like falling snowflakes with 3D glasses.

The Ethel M Holiday Cactus Garden which visitors can enjoy for FREE is now open nightly from 5pm to 10pm though Jan. 1.

Local Celebs Attend VIP Sneak Peak of Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Local entertainers were in attendance at Thursday night's (November 15) VIP sneak peak of Glittering Lights, the holiday drive-through spectacular at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which helps to support local children's charities.

A portion of ticket sales will benefit Speedway Children’s Charities which provides funding for hundreds of children’s charities throughout Southern Nevada. Goodwill of Southern Nevada will provide $2 off admission with a donation of gently used items at any of the 30+ sites located in Southern Nevada or at the gates of Glittering Lights.

Among the VIP invited guests at the Glittering Lights reception and preview were Mirage headliner, Terry Fator, Tropicana headliner comedy magician Murray, his showgirl wife, Cloe and on stage sidekick Doug "Lefty" Lefrovich; several dancers from Fantasy; one of the hunky men from "Thunder From Down Under", Defending The Caveman" star, comedian Kevin Burke, and D. D. Post from Las Vegas' favorite murder mystery dinner show "Marriage Can Be Murder Mayhem", who acted as hostess for the evening's festivities.

The outdoor event featured complimentary food provided by Carrabba's Italian Grill, hot coffee and cocoa from Bad Ass Coffee, and gourmet popcorn from POPPED!

Before enjoying complimentary tram tours of the dazzling light displays, guests were treated to a holiday themed private performance by ventriloquist/singer Terry Fator and his puppet friends, Emma Taylor and Winston, the impersonating turtle. Terry, D.D. and young heart patient, Ava Davis presided over the ceremonial lighting in which Ava pushed the button that switched on the lights.

This year, the 12th Annual Glittering Lights is even bigger and brighter than ever. Expanded by 20 percent the show includes an Avenue of Trees, 450 light displays incorporating a NASCAR display and 15,000 gift bags filled with goodies for visitors. This year, sponsors will be supporting an entire section of the park such as the Victorian Village which is comprised of 20+ light displays or Candyland which includes 12+ light displays. Many sponsors will have their own custom, semi-custom or standard light display and others will have a specialty night or product inclusion in gift bags.

Glittering Lights will be open nightly starting Nov. 16, 2012 through Jan. 6, 2013, Monday through Thursday from 5:30-9 p.m. at $15 per vehicle and Friday through Sunday from 5:30-10 p.m. at $20 per vehicle. The first 15,000 vehicles will receive a gift bag filled with goodies.

Opportunity Village Hosted Star-Studded Camelot Fundraiser

Opportunity Village, Las Vegas’ favorite charity, hosted its annual Camelot fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the organization’s Oakey Campus, home of the Magical Forest. This event was emceed by comedian Brad Garrett and celebrated the efforts of Bill and Susan Walters on behalf of individuals with disabilities.

This year, Camelot included a cocktail reception, five-star dinner, silent and live auctions, a preview of the Magical Forest and a special performance of a song inspired by Opportunity Village, written and performed by Mac Davis. As evidence of his kindness, Honoree Bill Walters generously pledged $1 million to Opportunity Village at this event.

Downtown Hotspot Insert Coin(s) Raises $2,000 for Local Charities 
during “Artists for a Cause”

Famed Downtown bar, Insert Coin(s) raised $2,000 to benefit Heaven Can Wait Animal Society and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation during its inaugural “Artists for a Cause” event on Nov. 14. Local artists including Juan Muniz, King Ruck, Obeyjef, Brian DeLeon, Bree DeLano, along with influencers, gathered to celebrate art and culture and engage in a silent auction to support the chosen nonprofits.

The silent auction featured generous item donations ranging from popular show tickets to “stay-cation” packages and one-of-a-kind experiences. Guests bid on items and enjoyed a display of video-game-inspired art from local talent. Artist Juan Muniz created an art piece live at the event to raffle off in effort to raise additional funds.

From now until the end of December, SIN CITY COMEDY is offering a $5 ticket to the show with proof of local Las Vegas residency. LAX Nightclub inside Luxor Hotel and Casino hosted the 13th Annual Latin GRAMMY after-party and welcomed winners, nominees and artists alike for a star-studded affair.

Around 11 p.m. the stars began arriving and making their way across the red carpet. At 1 a.m. all the attention was focused on the main stage as Latin GRAMMY Award-winner MAFFIO got on top of the DJ booth, thanked all his fans for their support and performed his remix of the hit single “Gangnam Style.

Shortly after MAFFIO’s performance DJ Kane got on the mic and performed his fan favorite “Azukar”.

Also spotted partying at the Vegas hot spot was hip hop icon Ice-T’s son, Lil Ice celebrating his 21st birthday.

Hip hop sensation Tyga, who turns 23 on Monday celebrated his birthday at TAO.

Joined by a group of friends the rapper was greeted by the sounds of DJ Vice.

Shortly after his arrival he was surprised by a 3-tier gold trimmed birthday cake and a girl dressed as a tiger in a cage.

Extra TV correspondent, Ben Lyons and friends was also spotted at TAO before heading up to the nightclub.
