Las Vegas' Top Lawyers Honored at Vegas Inc Cocktail Reception
Vegas Inc introduced its first Top Lawyers special publication and honored Las Vegas’ best litigators during a cocktail reception inside Silk Road at Vdara Hotel & Spa on Tuesday, July 31.
Vegas Inc Special Publications Editor Rob Langrell kicked off the evening by thanking event sponsors, the venue and sending congratulations to Top Lawyers’ honorees. Business professionals from all over Southern Nevada attended to mix, mingle and applaud their peers. The reception featured passed hors d’ oeuvres, house wines and specialty cocktails by Laphroaig and Maker’s 46.
The awards showcased legal professionals in 20 categories: Bankruptcy-Creditors, Bankruptcy-Debtors, Business, Construction and Land Use, Criminal Defense, DUI, Employment-Employees, Employment-Management, Estate Planning, Family, Gaming, Health Care, Immigration, Intellectual Property, Landlord and Tenant, Lawsuits and Disputes, Personal Injury, Real Estate and Foreclosure, Tax and Workers’ Compensation.
To determine the winners, VEGAS INC partnered with Avvo, a Seattle-based company that rates and profiles legal, dental and medical professionals. Avvo determines its selections purely on their respective ratings. The company’s proprietary algorithm rates attorneys on a 10-point scale, factoring in peer endorsements, experience, education, training, research, publishing and awards. These dynamic ratings are refreshed as new information is obtained from the Nevada State Bar Association and its certifying, licensing and disciplinary boards.
