M Resort Spa Casino Celebrates Chanukah with Menorah Lighting

Rabbi Sanford Akselrad and Philip Goldstein, Cantorial Soloist, both from Congregation Ner Tamid, conducted the lighting of the Menorah celebrating the first night of Chanukah on Tuesday, December 20 at the M Resort Spa Casino in Henderson. The giant menorah will be on display throughout the eight day holiday also know as the “Festival of Lights,. One light is kindled on the first night of the festival and an additional light is added on each of the successive seven nights. An extra light, called the “shamash,” which means “guard” is used to light all the other lights on the menorah. Guests were treated to hot chocolate and sugar cookies at the lighting.
