Chaos & Confetti – Recycled Percussion Continues To Provide Unique Entertainment for All Ages

I don't usually re-review a show within the span of a few months, but an invite from David Saxe Productions (DSP) and a new name for the show brought me back to the David Saxe Theater to see Chaos & Confetti – Recycled Percussion.

I enjoyed my previous visit to the show and must admit it is even better this time. But here's the dilemma. I can't distinguish exactly what has changed throughout the show. But I do know that it moves faster, has more laughs, and is involving.

Choose your musical instrument as you enter the theater

Much remains the same. Where else in Las Vegas are you handed drum sticks and a selection of pots and pans as you enter the theater? Oh, and the all important ear plugs for those who might want them. If you are enjoying the production, one way to express your delight is by banging on the pots and pans with your sticks. This is an interactive experience.

You may remember this high energy group from America's Got Talent – they were finalists on the fourth season in 2009.

The group members combine humor, musical ability, upbeat attitudes, and innovative approaches to entertainment to create a production that can be enjoyed by all ages.

You know you are in for a show like no other as the fun begins and two performers enter the stage area upside down. Yes, upside down.

Get ready for a good time as the guys use drum sticks on trash cans and gallon drums, spin chairs, and create an acoustic celebration by playing floors, ladders, lids, and even each other to the continuing delight of the crowd. Making music with power tools? Sure, why not. Sounds like a Vegas thing to do, right?!

Audience ready? Interact!

And then there's a segment with Elvis singing “Hound Dog”. Go figure. They use sight gags that might have been written by seventh graders but make you laugh. It was good before. It is even better now.

Beware, you might end up on stage dancing in a monkey mask. This gag was particularly amusing to me as the webmaster of Las Vegas Round The Clock, Steven Thorburn, was selected to monkey around on stage.

Thankfully, they still have Totally Random Cookie Time, a pause in the action as they deliver warm cookies to all the members of the audience. Gotta love it! There's no need for deep thinking, following a plot line, or interpreting the real meaning of any segments. The real meaning of this show is simply a good time. After the show, Justin Spencer, Ryan Vezina, Todd Griffin, and Jim Magoon will pose for photos with fans as they did with me.
