I'm a fan of Murray the Magician, but it had been a while since I had seen him perform. The celebration of his 250th show at the new Tropicana seemed reason enough to catch his show. This endearing blond spiky haired guy is an alumni of America's Got Talent and it is easy to see why. Others may recognize him as Pawn Stars resident Houdini expert.

Murray's seemingly bungling would-be magician janitor “Lefty” is played by the very much not bungling Doug Leferovich, a long time friend of Murray's.

His assistant Chloe Crawford is in fact Murray's wife who later in the evening is one of the beautiful ladies in Fantasy at the Luxor.

But back to the show. I loved it. It is fast paced with plenty of comedic lines, audience participation, a mix of familiar and newer tricks and a kid friendly patter that makes it a hit with all ages. He is also joined in the show by Chris Randall aka Scandal. Murray jokes that, “if you notice we have a one name show.... Murray, Chloe, Lefty and Scandal. it's all about branding and being remembered.”

Scandal has actually been in the show since June and is another close friend of Murray's. Murray describes Chris as “very talented and a great magician.”

Murray had invited his friend Disney artist and Vegas man about town James C. Mulligan to stop by to help him celebrate. But surprise, surprise. James brought along a painting he did of Murray, Chloe, and Doug as a gift for his friend.

I asked Murray what the 250th show meant to him. He told me that, “It's honestly exciting as I never expected to last more than eight weeks there. I love what I do and the Laugh Factory and the Tropicana and I have a great relationship and it's a great thing in a town like Las Vegas which is so competitive. I also get to work with my best friend and my wife so it's pretty cool.”

Murray plays Saturdays through Thursdays at 4 p.m. In the Laugh Factory at the new Tropicana. Check him out for a good time.

According to her husband Tim Biddle, Pam was diagnosed with brain cancer after recovering two months ago from her second bout of cancer. She survived the first ovarian cancer bout in 2005 and was cancer free for seven years.

Then, in Sept 2012 it came back. This time it was in fluid around her heart. They drained the fluid but found cancer cells floating in the fluid, so she underwent chemo for another nine months. In August, Tim recalled, they were told she was clear again.

“On September 23, her birthday,” Tim said, “we had a family get together and celebrated.” But on September 30, Pam lost her motor responses and part of her speech. Five days later , A CT Scan showed cancer in her brain.

Now, the bills are piling up, and Tim has lost his job due to so much time off taking care of Pam. “If you can help thank you. If you can't please pray for her,” he said.
