Jackson Galaxy - The Cat’s Meow for Real

Renowned feline expert and animal advocate Jackson Galaxy has “cat-apulted” into the national spotlight as the star of Animal Planet’s My Cat from Hell.

At the recent SuperZoo 2014 convention held at the end of July at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, he appeared at the cocktail party to unveil the exclusive cat product line he developed with Petmate – together they are remaking the cat play category based on a real-world understanding of cats and their natural behaviors and instincts. Galaxy is personally involved in the design of each product, from concept to packaging, using his unique philosophy of the ideal cat lifestyle, which he refers to as Cat Mojo: Hunt, Catch, Kill, Eat, Groom and Sleep. Called The Cat Daddy, Jackson’s unique ability to communicate with cats and resolve issues that plague them and their owners can be attested to on My Cat from Hell. In this interview with Bobbie Katz, he talks about life in the cat house.

Plane and Fancy - A First in International Flight

On Sunday evening, July 27,, the rain fell mainly on the plane from Spain but that didn’t stop the inaugural flight of Las Vegas Airlines, the first-ever direct flight from that country, from landing at 7 p.m. at the new international terminal at McCarran Airport and bringing in 300 excited Spaniards to enjoy a week of what Las Vegas has to offer.

The brainchild of acclaimed veteran producer, Luis Alvarez, who owns three theaters in Spain, the now 12-hour non-stop flight to Las Vegas (down from 28 hours and having to change planes), which will be bringing 300 Spanish tourists to the city weekly, offers passengers a revolutionary perk -- entertainment from the “captain,” who is one of the top five comedians in that country, and 10 other performers in a nightclub-like atmosphere on the plane. The Captain/comedian will change with each flight. It took two years to put the project together and get it approved but Alvarez’ success couldn’t have been more apparent at the welcoming party held at the terminal.

Alverez tells the story in this interview with Bobbie Katz.
