Michael Grimm Launches 3 Month Residency at Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Season five winner of “America’s Got Talent" Michael Grimm launched his three month residency at Vinyl inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Friday, May 29 with select performances through Sunday, August 30.

The soul singer has sold more than 200,000 albums and continues to grow a fan base of local, national and worldwide fans.

During his residency, Grimm and his band, consisting of lead guitarist, Carlos Guerrero, bass player Colin Hotchkiss, and drummer/musical director Drew Masterpole, will play more than 40 shows, featuring original songs from his new album that hits the stores on Monday, June 15, as well as his rendition of soulful songs.

Local residents can purchase discounted tickets for $10 (plus applicable service fees) by presenting a valid Nevada ID. Local tickets are subject to availability and are limited to two per person.

Magician TOMMY WIND held a special  Re-Grand Opening event for his show Magic, Music and More, on Thursday night, May 28 at his Tommy Wind Theatre at 3765 Las Vegas Boulevard. The one hour production, which features D.J. Mom, aks Wind's mother Arlene, Dad Tom, and assistant/ fiance Stacy, combines, magic, martial arts, and music, including a drum duet with his dad.  Last, but not least, the New York born, 25 year old former Magician of Year at the World Magic Awards, debuted the his brand new illusion, the “Bear Claw Death Trap”, that he magically escapes from just in the nick of time. At the show's conclusion, Wind announced that starting this summer, his new Wind Entertainment magazine will be coming out. Wind also said that other acts appearing at the Tommy Wind Theatre theatre are comedy hypnotist Justin Tranz's G rated show and insult comic Vinnie Favorito, who opened his show “Vinnie is My Favorito” on Thursday, June 4.

Las Vegas headliners who were spotted at Tommy Wind's Re-Grand Opening to show their support were Neil Diamond tribute artist, Rob Garrett and the star of Divas Las Vegas, female impersonator Frank Marino.

Headlining bands TONIC and VERTICAL HORIZON performed a free concert for Fremont Street Experience’s Rock of Vegas summer concert series on Saturday, May 30 at 9 p.m. at the 1st Street Stage. The bands played an array of monster hits including Tonic’s “If You Could Only See” and “You Wanted More” and Vertical Horizon’s “Everything You Want.”

Fremont Street Experience will provide the ultimate nirvana for rock music fans with an exciting lineup of performances in June including: Martha Davis and The Motels, The Tubes and The Smithereens on June 13; Smash Mouth and Toad the Wet Sprocket on June 27.

The tantalizing adult revue FANTASY at Luxor Hotel & Casino, introduces the “Summer of ‘15” ticket offer to Nevada locals, offering guests 15 percent off tickets with a valid Nevada ID. Following the show, guests are invited to a meet and greet opportunity with the cast for photos and autographs. Tickets are available for purchase at the Luxor box office. This offer will be available through August 31.

LIFETIME ATHLETIC GREEN VALLEY will partner with UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER OF SOUTHERN NEVADA (UMC) to host a POOL SAFETY DAY on Saturday, June 6. from  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This one-day event will capitalize on pool safety guidelines that may help prevent tragedy when swimming or boating.  The following organizations will be on-site to offer pool safety tutorials and tips: All Star Swim Academy, Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, CCSD Police Department, Duckie from Paragon Pools, Dr. Kate Martin and Residents with Department of Family and Community Medicine, FRC/Kohl’s at UMC, Ruth Cumber’s Lifeguard Staff, Nevada Department of Wild Life, Nevada Early Intervention Services, UMC-CPR, UMC-Trauma and

Music and art will come together as “Raiding the Rock Vault” Lead Vocalist PAUL SHORTINO (Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot) and World-Renowned Artist VLADIMIR KUSH join forces at Kush Fine Art Gallery at The Forum Shops in Caesars Palace on Saturday, June 6, to benefit the NEVADA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS (NSPCA). As part of the VLADIMIR KUSH PERFORMANCE SERIES, the event will feature an intimate performance by Shortino, while Kush completes a new masterpiece in front of a live audience. The finished painting will be auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting NSPCA. The event is FREE and open to the public and will include food, drinks, live auctions, and raffle drawings. Each year on June 8, The Ocean Project and The World Ocean Network globally promote and coordinate WORLD OCEANS DAY – a day to celebrate and honor the majestic oceans that link us together. Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage and Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay invite guests to participate in educational activities designed to demonstrate the importance of keeping our oceans debris free. This year’s theme is “Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet” with a focus on reducing marine debris and plastic pollution.

Saturday, June 6 – Monday, June 8 10 a.m. – 5 p.m..  Explore SIEGFRIED & ROY'S SECRET GARDEN AND DOLPHIN HABITAT and participate in multiple educational activities that focus on ocean conservation efforts, such as the “Better Bag Challenge” by making a promise not to use disposable bags for a year. Visit the new Sustainability Discovery Center to get a first-hand look at the role people play in protecting the oceans even in the Las Vegas desert. There also will be a watercolor activity in the underwater viewing area in which the creations will be put on display as part of a mural called “What A Healthy Ocean Looks Like To You.”

Along with other activities and education stations, artwork, essays and poems created by students from Estes McDoniel Elementary School will be available for viewing. Visitors can engage in a scavenger hunt called “Journey To A Healthy Ocean” in which they will receive forms with questions to fill out as they make their way through the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat to find answers. Guests will receive gifts to take home at the end of their visit.   Admission is $19.95 for adults; $14.95 for children (4 – 12); Children 3 and younger are free.

On Saturday, June 6 from 10 am to 4 pm. visit green sea turtles, sawfish, sharks and more than 2,000 other animals at THE SHARK REEF AQUARIUM while learning about the importance of keeping the oceans clean. Representatives from leading conservation groups such as The Nature Conservancy and Reef Check will be on site to answer any questions guests may have. Other educational activities include live artwork demonstrations by the Las Vegas Art Guild, aquatic artwork displays by Wyland Galleries and children’s art projects made with recycled products. The first 500 participants will receive reusable Shark Reef Aquarium market bags.  Admission is $18 for adults; $12 for children (5 – 12); Children 4 and younger are free. The Onyx After Hours presents Charles Busch’s cult comedy VAMPIRE LESBIANS OF SODOM. The limited run begins Friday, June 12, at The Onyx in Commercial Center and plays through June 27. The show is directed by Stephen R. Sisson and features local favorites Kellie Wright and Glenn Heath as the dueling divas…with bite! Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, June 12 through 27 at 11:00 pm. Tickets are $15.00 for general admission and are available through the Onyx Box Office.Performances of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom will be at The Onyx, located at 953 E. Sahara Ave. #16 in Commercial Center.

T– ROPPONGI Restaurant & Sushi Bar, located at 875 Prospect St., will celebrate National Sushi Day with half-priced sushi rolls and sake specials exclusively available on Thursday, June 18.  The specials will be offered from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

The Huntridge Foundation & West Huntridge Neighborhood present the film, THE GREAT OUTDOORS, June 12th. All Cinema in the Circle films are FREE, open to the public and take place at the Huntridge Circle Park, 1251 S. Maryland Parkway, in downtown Las Vegas. Events are on Fridays and start at dusk. Concession stand features movie snacks and drinks for purchase.

The Huntridge Foundation presents: Whiskey & A Western: UNFORGIVEN, starring Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, and Gene Hackman, will be screened on June 19th at 1251Almond Tree Lane.  Doors at 6pm, Film starts at 7pm. TRIPLE GEORGE GRILL, located at 201 N. Third Street, is wishing all dads a “Hoppy” FATHER'S DAY with a SPECIAL OFFER on Sunday, June 21. GOLDEN RAINBOW has announced a star-studded talent lineup for this year’s “RIBBON OF LIFE” to raise awareness and funds for those affected by HIV/AIDS. The production will feature a wide variety of rock and roll themed numbers performed by stars from Las Vegas’ favorite shows including “ShowStoppers,” “Jubilee,” “Jersey Boys,” “Million Dollar Quartet,” “MJ Live,” “Legends in Concert,” “Pin Up,” “Vegas! The Show,” and more.  The 29th annual “Ribbon of Life” event will be hosted by Edie (“Zumanity”) and Sean McAllister (“MORE” and “MORE Access”). The show will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at The New Tropicana Las Vegas and will be immediately followed by an after party in the Havana Room, where attendees can mix and mingle with performers and partake in a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres.  Tickets are now on sale at www.goldenrainbow.org.

To kick off “Ribbon of Life,” Golden Rainbow will build a Living Ribbon on Wednesday, June 10. Attendees are encouraged to show up at the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard (outside of The New Tropicana Las Vegas), donning their favorite shades of red at 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m. participants will be put into the formation of a ribbon as a symbol of solidarity for people living with HIV/AIDS. A limited quantity of red shirts will also be provided on site for walk-up participants.

Following a month-long voting period, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas’ 4.8-acre poolside tropical oases took the No. 1 spot for “BEST HOTEL POOL” in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice contest. The honor was recently announced after readers voted from a list of 20 nominees selected by a panel of hotel industry experts. Hard Rock Hotel was the only Las Vegas property to be featured in the top 10. The resort’s poolside paradise includes REHAB Pool, Nirvana Pool and Breathe Pool.

‘80s pop icon Debbie Gibson stopped by Rock of Ages at The Venetian Las Vegas for the 8 p.m. performance. Following the conclusion of the show, Gibson met with the cast.

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant, joined by a group of teammates, was spotted at TAO Worship Thursday taking in the sounds of DJ Five.

Tuesday, June 2...

Superstar recording artist Joe Jonas and actor Alan Ritchson were spotted at Blue Man Group Las Vegas inside Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. The two were in town training to become honorary Blue Men for NBC’s new reality series “I Can Do That.” After the show, the duo went backstage for a private VIP meet-and-greet with Co-Founders and original Blue Men, Phil Stanton and Chris Wink, along with cast members.

Retired professional boxer Mike Tyson was spotted at Blue Man Group inside Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. Following the performance, the athlete went backstage for a private VIP meet-and-greet with the Blue Men and cast members.
