Throughout the exhibition’s six themed galleries, visitors will discover the breadth and scope of da Vinci’s incredibly advanced understanding of science, mathematics, nature, and the relationship between the three. The artist’s intricate designs and extraordinary early concepts are spotlighted, including his ideas for the helicopter, military tank, SCUBA, crane, clock, submarine, hang glider and plan for a modern city. Additionally, various multimedia and documentary presentations throughout the experience provide a multitude of supplementary information on da Vinci’s discoveries and creative process.

In addition to da Vinci’s role as an inventor, Da Vinci The Exhibition investigates a collection of da Vinci’s most renowned paintings, including some controversial works traditionally attributed to him, but not yet authenticated. Guests will have the opportunity to thoroughly study the artistic mastery behind such works as “Mona Lisa,” “The Last Supper,” “Portrait of a Young Man,” “Virgin of the Rocks,” “St. John the Baptist” and more.

Terry Fator Celebrates 5th Anniversary at The Mirage

“The Voice of Entertainment” Terry Fator, celebrated his 5th anniversary at the Mirage on Friday night, March 7 with the debut of his new show that features fresh, clever new material and Fator's statuesque wife Taylor Makakoa who serves as his onstage assistant.

To celebrate the fifth anniversary, and the five year extension included in his 10 year, $10 million contract, there was a video montage of celebrities offering their congratulations including Ray Romano, Martin Short, Penn & Teller, Tony Orlando, Carrot Top, Jerry Springer, Drew and Jonathan Scott, Boyz II Men and cast members of “Absinthe,” “Rock of Ages”, “Jabbawockeez”, “Jersey Boys” and former America Got Talent judge, CNN host Piers Morgan, whose appearance was greeted by several boos from the audience.

For the new show Fator has added a storyline centered around Winston The Impersonating Turtle, who announces at the beginning of the show that he has decided to quit working with Fator and is heading for stardom in Hollywood. Looking for his replacement, Fator brings on stage a variety of puppet characters, each with distinct personalities and singing voices, including  Wrex, the crash-test dummy, country legend Walter T. Airedale, Elvis impressionist, Maynard Tompkins, freckle faced 12 year old, Emma Taylor,Vikki the Cougar, R & B singer Julius, and “stoner” Duggie Scott Walker. One by one, they show off “their” vocal talents and engage in comical back and forth banter with Fator that contains pop culture references targeting celebrities such as Arnold Swartzenneger, the Kardashians, Britney Spears and a hysterical running bit pertaining to David Hasselhoff. Also, interspersed throughout the show are humorous video news reports about Winston's career in Hollywood.

I have seen Fator's show at the Mirage several times over the years and what I have noticed is that not only has he become more confident and relaxed on stage, he continually proves he is in a class all his own with his fabulously entertaining show that showcases his talents as an extraordinary impressionist, ventriloquist, singer and comedian. His amazing ability to lend his voice to the lovable puppets while not moving his lips is unparallelled. Audiences also have the pleasure of hearing the multi gifted performer sing in his own voice a few emotionally touching songs that he wrote.

Following the show there was an after party for invited guests and VIPs. Seen among the crowd were veteran ventriloquist Willie Tyler, Harrah’s headliner Mac King, actor/comedian Fred Willard, comedians Marty Allen and George Wallace, singer Pia Zadora, cast members from Chippendales, Rick Harrison of reality TVs“Pawn Stars”, BMX pro Ricardo Laguna and comedy magician Murray Sawchuck.  Also in attendance were Mirage president,Trevor Scherrer, and vice president of hotel operations Franz Kallao, who congratulated Terry on his extended deal as headliner at The Mirage.
