Yellow Brick Road presents Pink Floyd Tribute

Artist Info: Yellow Brick Road (YBR) is a Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band. The Pink Floyd tribute show kicks off with a performance of the Dark Side of the Moon album. After a brief intermission, the band will perform excerpts from The Wall, Meddle, Wish You Were Here and more. Guest musicians will join the performance ands there will be a video presentation in sync with the music.

Boney James

Genre: Jazz

Artist Info: Saxophonist Boney James is known for fusing R&B and pop into mainstream jazz music. Albums such as Body Language (1999), Shake It Up (2000), Ride (2001) and his most recent release Shine (2006), which peaked at number one on Billboard’s top contemporary jazz chart, continue to make James a consistent best seller.

All ages welcome; those under 21 must be accompanied by an adult



Eddie Money

Genre: Rock

Artist Info: Eddie Money gained success from hit singles like “Take Me Home Tonight,” “Two Tickets to Paradise” and “Baby Hold On,” becoming one of the most popular rock ‘n’ roll artists of the past two decades. Money has also worked on theme songs for the Arena Football League (AFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB). In 2007, Money released the album Wanna Go Back, a compilation of songs from the ‘60s when Money was first getting his start in the music industry. Just this year, Money’s daughter, Jesse Money, appeared on the MTV reality series “Rock the Cradle,” to see if she has the same musical talents as her father.

Artist Info: Emerson Drive originally formed in the late ‘90s under the name 12 Gauge. After releasing a couple albums and performing on the Canadian circuit, the band moved to country music’s capital, Nashville, and changed its name to Emerson Drive. The band released its eponymous debut album as Emerson Drive in 2002, featuring the hit songs “I Should be Sleeping” and “Fall into Me.” In fall 2006, the band released the album Countrified, epitomizing the band’s desire to perform for country fans everywhere. Among the songs on the album are “A Good Man” and “Moments,” which reached number one on both country charts and is the band’s fastest rising single to date.

George Benson

Genre: Jazz and R&B

Venue: Grand Events Center

Date: Friday, May 23, 2008, at 8 p.m.

Artist Info: George Benson is said to be one of the most versatile musicians around, performing everything from jazz to soul to pop and R&B, in addition to playing rhythm guitar and singing. His recording career began at the tender age of 21 and has taken off from there. He has since performed with jazz greats Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis and the Beatles, among numerous others. Among his hit songs are “This Masquerade,” “On Broadway” and “Turn Your Love Around,” to name a few.

Taylor Dayne

Genre: ‘80s Pop and R&B

Venue: Ovation

Date: Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 7 p.m.

Artist Info: Taylor Dayne was an instant success in the pop dance world with the release of her 1987 debut single “Tell It to My Heart,” that soared to the Top Ten on the dance pop charts. She released her debut album of the same name the following year, reaching double platinum status and featuring three more Top Ten hits: “Don’t Rush Me,” “Prove Your Love” and “I’ll Always Love You.” Her sophomore album Can’t Fight Fate reached platinum status and included the number one song “Love Will Lead You Back,” as well as hit singles “With Every Beat of My Heart” and “I’ll Be Your Shelter.” Dayne has released two more albums since as well as several songs for movie soundtracks. In the interim period, she has focused on her acting career and including a VH1 reality series “Remaking Taylor Dayne” in 2006. This past February saw the release of Dayne’s first studio album in eight years, Satisfied which features the song “Beautiful” that reached number one on the Billboard dance chart.

Artist Info: Since 1998, smooth jazz greats have been coming together to form Guitars and Saxes, each year with a different configuration of musicians, highlighting jazz music’s most prominent instruments, the guitar and the saxophone, and the musicians that play them. This year’s ensemble is no different with jazz stars Gerald Albright, Jeff Golub, Jeff Lorber and Peter White taking the stage. The show features the instrumentalists performing their own tunes in solo routines as well as accompanied by their fellow musicians on the tour.

All ages welcome- Under 21 must be accompanied by an adult



Atomic Punks

Genre: Tribute

Venue: Chrome Showroom

Date: Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 7 p.m.

Ticket Prices: $10 cover at the door

Artist Info: The Atomic Punks are a tribute to early Van Halen, the David Lee Roth era. Formed in 1994, the Atomic Punks have performed more than 300 shows in places like Hollywood, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Seattle and most importantly, Pasadena, Calif., where Van Halen started their meteoric rise to stardom. In his 1997 biography, Roth himself described Atomic Punks as “the best tribute to Van Halen, ever.” Throughout Atomic Punks tenure, several of the band members have toured with Roth, additionally, Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony has performed with Atomic Punks on multiple occasions.

Hal Ketchum

Genre: Country

Venue: Chrome Showroom

Date: Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 8 p.m.

Artist Info: Country singer and songwriter Hal Ketchum quickly rose to fame in the early ‘90s with the release of his first single, “Small Town Saturday Night,” which soared to number one on the country charts and caught the ear of Curb Records. After signing with Curb, Ketchum went on to release 15 top 10 hits and sell more than 4 million records. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and often hosts the TV show “Opry Live” that airs on Great American Country Network on Saturday nights. This past February, Ketchum released the single “One More Midnight” which will also be featured in an upcoming Francis Ford Coppola film starring Sienna Miller. He just finished recording 14 songs in studio for an album due out later this year.

Artist Info: Firehouse released its eponymous debut album in 1991 to immediate success, reaching platinum status and featuring two hit singles, “Don’t Treat Me Bad” and “Love for a Lifetime.” The band released its sophomore album Hold Your Fire the following year, which reached gold status and produced the hit songs. “When I Look Into Your Eyes,” “Reach for the Sky” and “Sleeping with You.” Firehouse continued to release albums throughout the ‘90s and the early 2000s, including their eighth album, Prime Time, released in 2003.

Trace Adkins

Artist Info: Trace Adkins is a multi-platinum country music recording star who has remained a chartbuster for more than 11 years. He has become one of country music's top headlining performers and has sold millions of records, won dozens of industry awards and is a member of the prestigious Grand Ole Opry. Adkins is well known for songs such as “Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk,” “Songs About Me,” “Ladies Love Country Boys” and “This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing,” among numerous others. Adkins recently came in second place on the NBC hit reality series “Celebrity Apprentice” with Donald Trump. Just this month, Adkins won the Country Music Television (CMT) award for best male video for “I Got My Game On.”

Artist Info: Growing up in Phoenix, Ariz., Dierks Bentley wasn’t exposed to country music, but he became hooked in his teens when he heard Hank Williams, Jr. He then decided to pursue a career in country music and took up rhythm guitar and moved to Nashville. After some time performing gigs around the city, Bentley was signed by Capitol Nashville and released his self-titled debut album in 2003 that featured the number one single, “What Was I Thinkin’.” That year, he received several award nominations and won the CMT Flameworthy Award for breakout video. Since then, Bentley has continuously toured and released two more albums, Modern Day Drifter in 2005 and Long Trip Alone in 2006. American Idol Season 5 finalist Bucky Covington released his eponymous debut album in 2007 to great success, opening at number one on Billboard’s top country albums chart. He is touring through May with Bentley as part of Dierks Bentley’s Throttle Wide Open Tour and will continue performing solo shows throughout the remainder of the year.

Artist Info: Singer Keith Marlo will perform a tribute show to the late Luther Vandross. The late singer/songwriter is famous for his cool R&B tunes throughout the ‘80s, ‘90s and first part of this decade. Notable songs of his include “Here and Now,” “Stop to Love,” “Power of Love” and “Dance with My Father,” among numerous others. The first 50 ladies that attend the show will receive a flower in honor of Mother’s Day.

Good Vibrations: A Beach Boys Tribute

Artist Info: Good Vibrations takes audiences on a musical journey of sun, surf, cars and girls in an exciting tribute to the music and spirit of the Beach Boys. The group captures the unique harmonies of the Beach Boys as they perform several of their classic hits including: “California Girls,” “Surfin’ USA,” “I Get Around,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Fun, Fun, Fun” and the group’s namesake hit, “Good Vibrations.” In May 2005, Good Vibrations performed for the Beach Boys at the California State Historical landmark dedication to the childhood home of founding members Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson. They have also performed with Beach Boys’ founding member Al Jardine for several high-profile shows, including the 2007 Indianapolis 500.

Featuring the music of Gloria Estefan, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias

Date: Friday, May 30, 2008, at 8 p.m.

Artist Info: Comedian Stephen Sorrentino takes on the role of producer and director with the one-night only show, Superstar Latinos. This tribute show brings the likes of Latin celebrities Enrique Iglesias, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Shakira and Ricky Martin to the stage. All five impersonators will be backed up by a seven-piece band and a light show to correspond with their on-stage music and moves.
