THURSDAY NIGHT LIVE! ENTERTAINMENT RELEASED FOR APRIL
FREE cultural arts performances celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month
(Henderson, NV) The City of Henderson Cultural Arts & Tourism
Department recognizes Jazz Appreciation Month with free performances
each Thursday in April at 8 p.m. at the Henderson Events Plaza, located
at 200 S. Water Street. Several family friendly performances have been
scheduled for the upcoming month and feature a multitude of entertaining
jazz bands.
The FREE performances are part of the Citys Thursday Night Live!
cultural art series, which showcases local and emerging talent in an
informal setting that is accessible to people of all ages.
The Thursday Night Live! schedule of entertainment includes:
April 3 Quintessence
John Nasshan, radio host on KUNV 91.5 FM, leads this jazz quintet as
they keep the heart and soul of acoustic jazz and BeBop alive and
swinging.
next level....each time we perform.
April 10 Green Valley High School
The Green Valley High School Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Band and Jazz
Ensemble will amaze audiences with an entertaining repertoire of music.
This music program is one of the most recognized in the state and has
received national recognition by being honored as a National GRAMMY
Signature School.
April 17 Shapiro Project
This Las Vegas based quartet displays a fresh approach featuring
energetic sounds from jazz to funk and Latin to contemporary music.
Organized in 2000 by UNLV graduate students, Shapiro Project has
participated in many jazz festivals across the nation and has played
with world-renown musicians like The Temptations.
April 24 Las Vagrants
The Las Vagrants present a unique atmosphere with their cool and soulful
jazz music.
All Thursday Night Live! performances take place in the amphitheatre
which features ample seating. Blankets and personal coolers are welcome,
but glass containers are prohibited.
