Hands Across the Arts (April 10)
An evening to benefit the CSN Performing Arts Center and the Ira
Aldridge Theatre Company on April 10 features a VIP reception at 6 p.m.
and an awards presentation at 7:30 p.m., followed by a performance of
August Wilson’s “Fences,” directed by Walter Mason. The black
tie-invited event will be held at the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the
Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Tickets are $100 per person. For

“Fences” (April 11)
August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize winning play, “Fences,” directed by
Walter Mason and produced by the Ira Aldridge Theatre Company, will be
staged in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. on April
11 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $30 for adults; $20 for students and

CSN SIXTH ANNUAL JAZZ WEEK
Opening Jazz Concert (April 20)
College of Southern Nevada’s Student Jazz Band and the CSN Faculty
Sextet will perform April 20 at 2 p.m., in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre
on the Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. The event kicks off CSN’s
Sixth Annual Jazz Week. $5 general admission. For reservations, call

Big Bands Concert at CSN (April 21)
College of Southern Nevada’s two dynamic big bands will be featured
April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the BackStage Theatre, on the Cheyenne Campus,
3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. The Wednesday Night Jazz Band, directed by Dr. Tom
Ferguson, and the Saturday High Noon Band, directed by Dick Wright, will
perform tributes to today’s published arrangers. $5 general admission.

Vocal Jazz at CSN (April 22)
As part of the College of Southern Nevada’s Sixth Annual Jazz Week, a
performance featuring CSN’s Jazz Singers, the professional jazz quartet
“Fifth Avenue,” and the jazz choir from Eldorado High School will be
held on April 22 at 7:30 p.m., in the BackStage Theatre at the Cheyenne

Jazz Band Invitational (April 23)
As part of the College of Southern Nevada’s Sixth Annual Jazz Week, the
jazz bands from Palo Verde High School and Rogich Middle School will

Jazz Combos at CSN (April 24)
The College of Southern Nevada’s four jazz combos, directed by Dr. Tom
Ferguson, will perform music from the '50s through '70s on April 24 at

Cheyenne Ave. The event is a part of CSN’s Sixth Annual Jazz Week. $5

Jazz in the Moonlight (April 26)
An outdoor performance at the Rainbow Library Amphitheatre, 3150 N.
Buffalo Dr., on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. features the CSN Student Jazz
Ensemble under the direction of Walter Blanton, the Wednesday Night Jazz
Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Tom Ferguson, and the CSN Jazz
Singers directed by Dr. Mark Wherry. This event is the final concert in
CSN's Jazz Week. Bring a picnic basket, lawn chair or blanket. Pets,
glass containers and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. FREE

The Usual Suspects (May 2 and May 16)
America’s most wanted improv trio – Finley Bolton, Rick Ginn and Jeff
Granstrom – perform their fly-by-the-seat-of-your pants comedy in the
style of television’s “Whose Line is it Anyway?” May 2 and May 16 in the
BackStage Theatre on the Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave.

CSN Spring Dance Concert (May 2 and 3)
The CSN Dance Ensemble and the internationally lauded Concert Dance
Company present the revival of “The Seven Deadly Sins,” choreographed by
Kelly Roth and premiered in 2002, in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre at the
Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Performances will be May 2 at
7:30 and May 3 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5
for students and seniors. Receptions follow both evening performances.

CSN Orchestra Concert (May 5)
Conductor Christopher Davis and the CSN Orchestra present an evening of
traditional and not-so-traditional orchestral literature on May 5 at

CSN Concert Band – (May 6)
Conducted by Dr. Richard McGee, the 55-piece Concert Band will feature
music by American composers, including John Phillip Sousa's "Liberty
Bell March," Norman Dello Joio's "Fantasies on a Theme by Haydn,” and
Don Gillis' "Tulsa” on May 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn

CSN Spring Choral Concert (May 8)
The College of Southern Nevada’s College Singers, Chamber Chorale, Jazz

CSN Calypso Coyote Steel Drum Concert (May 9)
College of Southern Nevada’s Calypso Coyote Steel Drum Band, under the
direction of Robert Bonora, brings the sounds of Trinidad to southern
Nevada on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the
Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Special guest artists will
include Alan Lightener, on steel drums, and percussionist Michito

Piano Festival Finale and Awards Ceremony at CSN (May 18)
Winners of the College of Southern Nevada’s NInth Annual Piano Concerto
will perform with the Nevada Chamber Symphony, under the baton of
Maestro Rodolfo Fernández, and receive their awards on May 18 at 2 p.m.,
in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre on the Cheyenne Campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne
